I confess to being astonished. I expected the forum to attract about 5 members and fizzle out in about that many days.

On the subject of astonishment, I have just spent a few minutes trundling around areas of the forum I do not usually visit.

There is a fantastic wealth of information and advice available, yet the forum is only a couple of months old.

A bit further on, and we are up over the 2,000 membership mark.

Not many of them contribute, but those that do.....what a difference they make. I wish I had found somewhere like this when I started trading.

All in all a great little community. Overall, harmonious, constructive and cooperative, with none of the conflict, vindictiveness and moronics elsewhere (you know where I'm getting at). It shows you how well-run a forum can be when the adminss have the power and the will to act in the best interests of that forum, and not themselves or their cronies.

I think a large proportion of the regular members do contribute, but they do it only when they have something valuable to contribute. For large periods (personally speaking), there is a lot of watch-and-learn going on. The mods and admins here have vast amounts of trading experience, and it is often better to let these folks collaborate undisturbed in many threads, unless there is a genuine reason to pipe up. Often, the thoughts and ideas of the novice have already been considered and embraced/rejected by the veterans.

One opportunity I see to improve the forum's effectiveness is in coordinating the thousands (woohoo!) of members to forward-test variants and settings of EAs (see the Automated Trading -> Forward Testing Template thread). Many hands make light work. Please everyone, read it through again, and give it some consideration. There is enormous untapped potential here.

Indeed, and my comments were not intended as criticism. 'Silent lurkers' are most welcome here and should not feel guilty about not actively contributing. It is far more beneficial that people speak only when they have something useful to say.
