Ok, I didn't know that. I'll have a look at it.You can use the HPEA together with the APTM to place orders.
Thanks for the advice. I'll have to think about how the money/risk management will work with that. I use a script to enter trades that calculates my risks based on my stop loss, equity, etc to make sure that even if all my trades fail my margin level will be high enough to prevent disaster with my account. I may have to somehow incorporate my script into HPEA to ensure that all my risk management is covered. What you are saying about stacking makes sense especially since once I break even + 2 or 3 to lock in some initial profit then as far as I understand the equity I used to enter that trade becomes available again so I can re-enter/stack with the same number of lots I entered with and continue doing that as the trade progresses in profit. I'll have a look at HPEA to see how it works. Thanks. With what lotsize do you intend to start? Keep in mind, that if a high lotsize applied at open and price will not run in profit you will burn your account very fast. It makes more sense to stack orders consecutive in price-direction by pyramiding, if price moves in profit protected by trailing-SL in the designated direction by stacking further orders.
You have to consider, that price will not move after open always immediately into profit. So your starting risk will be extremely high. Try it in a live account and you will become persuade very fast, that this method with partial profit will not work to your favor.
Experience from an old dog.
I usually enter trades with lot sizes based on my initial SL that are 1% or less of my account but I wait until the price is already going in my expected direction before entering trades so this has been working ok for me for preventing early reversals, provided that my initial SL gives the trade enough room to move without getting stopped out. Nevertheless, I'll try stacking trades and see how that works out. Thanks.
