Wide Range Body Holy Graily Bob

EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

Have you figured out the difference between your settings and woodlands? Seems odd that the EA behaves so differently, but we have seen this before between different brokers.
Honestly, not. I have not had the time to compare his .set file with mine, yet. Furthermore I did not understand his approach with all those trademanager .set files. Does that mean Woodland is using a manager for each individual trade? Like one for RAD trades and another for Wavys and so on?
Brian and World's End,
I was suffering the same degradation in the WRB account as WE and decided, since the logic is absolutely correct, to try something I used successfully with Fractal Bob, that being to manage the trades with Steve's MPTM and also Milanese now available APTM. I have assumed in these tests that it was my computer or VPS that was perhaps underpowered to handle the processing ability of the stand alone EA. ( Is it possible to ask too much of a single program?).
Yes WE, I have set up managers for the individual trades using trade comment facility, that's three as I am not allowing range trades.
Plus one additional for the Global Closure working from the 'magic number only' to encompass all trades.
The WRB then is responsible for entry only on RAD, Blue Wavy and Trend and, so far, for placing the initial SL and TP. Management is taken on by the individual MPTM's or APTM's.
As you see I have used a broad a selection as possible of three brokers from different jurisdictions and account types, commission only ECN, spread based and micro ( with ludicrous spreads) to try and see some control of effect.
I published the set files I was using in the hope that others more knowledgeable than I would test with other combinations and find the answer to this disparity in results.
Most of the settings for management are those I used in WRB as a 'standalone' EA. There is no problem within the code, therefore it must lie with latency, capacity or speed.
Today was a massacre, being Friday, but leaves all three accounts healthy ( by my levels of gain) for the period we are discussing.
Micro balance all position closed is : $33.31 (last night $50.41 closed) start $6.84
GP demo balance all closed is: $503.24 (last night $493.14 closed) start $283.something
TW demo balance all closed is: $128.14 (last night $133.97 closed) start $100.00

BTW on real live A/C's for this week
PPoS +10% and closed
FXD1O + 22% and closed

As ever thanks for all this to SH and the F's crew :hi:

Have yotu given thought to using %risk lots instead on your entry so they go up as your balance go up also?

Not the best day so far, GP demo closed at the save your shirt settings (at -$100), this I guess is overtrading with 0.1 lots on $500 balance, it has recovered with one 10% closure since so remains down near $60. Start was $283 balance now as I write is $447.07.
WRB GP.png
From the micro I took out the $20 that I started with, leaving $13 balance.
For this I reduced the lot size pro rata and then once again to a third of that, at the same time reducing the global closure to 3% from 10%. so a more realistic risk/reward ratio if to run longer term.
Today all three suffered a loss on the EUJPY but not as dramatic effect with this lower risk.
I am now using on this account the APTM to manage these comment trades with all stops inc initial set in account currency rather than pips, BE and JS also. MPTM dealing with global closure as 3%.
Start was $6.84 and balance as I write this is $12.67 ( and I have my initial 'investment' of $20 back. :good: )
WRB micro.png
TW took a loss on the EUJP and a BE on AUNZ so currently down, no closures or shirt saving. Balance as I write this is $111.63 start was $100, only run about four trading days

Woodlands - thanks for your enlightening response. The approach seems very logical and echos how PPoS is being run by AGT with a global closure.
I have not tried this version of HGB yet. Great job! Keep up the updates, very intriguing.

Hey Woodland,

How are your results with WRB so far? Haven't seen an update recently and was curious if it was going well.

Tim,
Sorry for the delay I have been away on other work. I will update this weekend with more detail. Meantime I have changed the signature link to the micro which is ongoing with changed settings reducing the global and changing the stops and now is recovering from the downturn.

Hi Woodlands

I ran a MyFxBook report filter using the trade comments, this is how to do it;

The results are straight forward, looks like you could make some adjustments to the system.

Dear Brian,
Thanks very much for that, an extremely useful tool that I had never found.
I will run it for the period after the 10/09/15-16/09/15 when it ended the retrace (although I changed to a much lower Global closure at 3% and lot size on the 14/09/15) and see whether the wavy is still having the same negative effect or whether it was solely involved in the drop on those days when it hit shirt saving twice, (here is where I think the 70%DD is appearing, before the closure)
I shut both the GP and TW platforms as with so many EA's in use on the VPS it was grinding to a halt.
For the record:
The GP ended at $218 after the two stop outs from an original balance of $283 and peak of $503
The TW ended at $57 after the two stop outs from an original $100 and peak of $111

This is the trade report for the Micro for the period from 00:00 17/09/15 to date:
WRB 11.png
As can be seen the RAD is the most successful in this period but the wavy is also making a valid contribution to gains. From the beginning of this test it appears that the RAD is well confirmed by the WRB candle theory which seems logical.
Trading HGI on higher time frames I have found the Trend and Wavy to be the strong ones and have left RAD out unless it is a retrace in an established trend following Trend/wavy or Trend signal.

By PM requests here are the .setfiles currently in use, these for the micro so lot size, global% and magic need to be adjusted:

WRB_noBEorJS.set

Edit: Links for EA's attached by request

PPoS still working away, and now also JL's Eurospeedway on a steady gain

My thanks to all those involved in Steve's team
