V 1h is in post 1. I have added the option to move the stop loss on a colour change for each of the 4 indicators.

Hi,

Just as a test I'm running with pending trades with a buffer of 5 pips from last bars High or Low instead of Ask/Bid, had trades triggered after a Long-legged Doji, which signals indecision, the trade taken within low and high of the previous doji. Maybe it works and removes some losses, we'll see.

I packed in my job as an IT consultant 6 months ago and have been trading a combination of EAs and strategies I've developed over the years ever since. Well, mostly I've been fishing and walking, busy having the best time of my life after years of working around 90 hours a week

I'd like to quickly point out that my usual approach to strategies found on forums is to debunk them. I create a quick and dirty robot, run extensive backtests on the strategy and usually find that it is not working, or at the very least, not working consistently.

I took a slightly different approach this time and tried the manual method as described by JF. The results were very positive, so I put together a dashboard trader for all the major pairs simply to prove that the strategy may work right now, but only with certain instruments. I was/am convinced that no strategy works consistently and definitely not on every major chart. IMHO profitable trading is only possible with good money and trade management and flexibility when it comes to 'strategies' ...

Every single dashboard EA I've (and others) put together and tested has failed dramatically ... except this one!!!

I am not an amazing coder like the team here, but I've created some nice indicators and a whole range of EAs which help me stay out of offices and away from employers insisting that I work the hours they like.

JF's strategy right now appears to me to be the most exciting intra-day strategy/method I've come across. I've applied some of my own trade management rules, lost about a third of my GP demo account setup to test the EA due to a coding error, then re-scripted, backtested the single instrument EA I use to test the rules for the dashboard EA and then let it loose again. My live test achieved very fast and outstanding results, as have all my single instrument backtests.

Would you be happy if I contacted both of you (initially) privately to share my findings and code and to discuss further developments if you feel this is worth sharing with all our coders here?

Hi patmontes.

No, i dont use pending orders. I want to keep it simple as possible for the beginning. Also no trailing stop etc.

Lets see what tomorrow and the next week will show. One thing i wonder about is that the DSS Bressert seems to bring in the entries a little late on the 15 min.

I also do some manually testing on the daily chart with different Indisettings, looks much smoother...

However, i like this thing.

Hi Danny

Did you read this post by Wapen in the manual thread http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 37#p128737? I bet he is not the only one who would like such a dashboard/heat map.

Please do not take this next bit as a criticism. I offer it on a so-you-know basis as you have not been around long. Backtesting in Empty4 Stratergy Tester, or as I refer to it Craptesting in Empty4 Crapergy Tester, is a waste of time. Results are so unreliable as to be worthless. Backtesting discussion is informally banned here at SHF and I delete backtesting posts from my threads.
