Hi,
you are right and for that everyone must be careful and take into account the risk of his/her account. For that reason:
1. I only trade with positive swaps. This way the DD is more soportable.
2. I have a DD of 4.000 pips in my live account, but if now I close my account, it will give me 6.000 pips in profit in two weeks.
3. There are options softer, as trader689 says. You can use v3 with correlation true or the v6 conservative v2 version. In any case, you can reduce the spread and the number of pairs.
4. The v3 version, as I said, is the pure version without filters (apart from swap positive). As someone has said it is a rocket. Be careful.
