Nanningbob 10.2 auto-trading EA

Hi Steve,

Great work on this EA and thanks Verb your codex. Great contributions for this system. I work full time and I'm in the U.S. so it is hard for me to manually trade this system, so I really appreciate you creating this auto-trader.

The only thing I would ask for is an automated feature to close trades that are losers based on last swing hi/lo. I see many of the guys over in the FF thread are using that as a way of closing losers and are still doing very well. I have been using the auto-trader and closing trades manually, but would like to see how the EA performs with an automated close feature. Thanks for your consideration. Thanks for all your hard work

This EA may become my only auto-trader if it keeps performing as it has been.

There would probably be a certain look back period in candles/bars looking for the highest high for sell transactions or looking for the lowest low for any buy transactions and you might also apply a pip buffer to that lowest low or highest high before using it as your stop loss. I would envision that this would there would be a boolean selection indicator, pip buffer and bar look back setting in the input parameters.

Version 1l is in post 1. Please see Adaptive stop loss exits and the subsequent paragraph about sl/tp lines.

Bear in mind that I cannot test the sl/tp lines code because the markets are shut. There may be bugs.

I think he means to set a SL at the latest Swing Hi/Lo Point.

if Buy Trade then SL is set at the latest Swing Lo (or some Pips below) on th 1H or 4H Timeframe.
if Sell Trade then SL is set at the latest Swing Hi (or some Pips below) on th 1H or 4H Timeframe.

It is how I Trade and would be a nice feature for the EA.

This EA is going to evolve, so swing-related stops are a possibility.

For now, use the features already included to adjust your stops according to the way you trade your swings. If you come to some firm conclusions, I can add the relevant code.

Wow! Even counting open drawdown (which you should), you're still up 9% for the week. That's VERY impressive!

The bot did an incredible job on closed trades, winning 40 of 41. It has a few stinkers open, though, notably buying GBPCHF near the peak on the 15th. Wonder what it takes to make it give up on a loser like that?

I *gotta* get back to the NB10.2 docs and understand this system...

The GBPCHF should be closed....but I had to see how the EA handles the trades.
Demo purpose
Will open a new account soon to track the last EA version without "debug trades".

Hehe. Yep, you sure do. There really, truly is no substitute for understanding it. You are not One of The Good Guys, Gary, you are one of The Bestest Of All Guys. I promise, if I could somehow transcribe everything into your brain, i would. I cannot.

You also need to understand that nothing in previous versions of my EA does anything to give up on a stinker; that was down to the trader.

Latest version does deal with the stinker, but it remains to be seen how helpful this is. Um. Sorry to say, but there is no substitute for knowing how this bot works either.

Absolutely no criticism intended here at all. Also lots of understanding and sympathy. Your energies have been directed elsewhere in an attempt to help others. I have been in the same situation many times. Still am, in fact; not a clue what is happening in the FR threads, yet I started most of them - been too busy here.

The GBPCHF should be closed

Should it? D1 Slope shows a rising angle. TIB says that the indi reacts quickly to market changes and shows them before they show up on our charts.

Also, the H4 chart shows a rise in the angle, even though Slope is showing a falling trend.

Not saying GC should not be closed, just questioning your statement. You could well be correct. My GC buys have a +100 stop loss in place, just in case.

If you have a buy on the GC. You should close when it crosses its weekly pivot and look to see if it comes back over the line again. If you have a sell, need to be careful of one last burst up back to the weekly pivot line before it goes into a DT.
