Please support a remarkable young man

You guys were brilliant in helping me through a very dark time in my life. I am asking you to offer the same hands of friendship to a remarkable young man.

I initially looked after her as much as I could but as she slowly deteriorated. I tried to have her seek help from professionals, my father saw it as a threat and thought she would be moving into care, which he didn't like the thought of, so tried to keep her at home as long as possible.
He also banned me from the family home, and I subsequently stopped looking after her (although i visited as much as i could)_

Of course this isn't a problem providing your home is fully equipped with hoist and you have carers ect.
In his illness he thought he could take care of her on his own, not realizing he could not even care for himself.

She got so unwell, she was admitted to hospital, at which point my dad could no longer state he was caring for her.
She is now stable in a care home, being looked after well.
I live on my own with my little sister (16) as I offered her a place away from my father.

I apologize, I don't really know why I'm telling you this. I saw your post about your wife having MS and I think I just wanted to sympathize with you as I know the illness and effects first hand.

Again I think its incredible what you've done here to bring these wonderful people together and i cant express my thanks enough.

Most of us know how 16 year old girls can kick off, and this teen has more reason than most to do so. It would be lovely to know that this is a place where Josh can get advice and sympathy when things are hard for him - so that we become part of his and his sister's support network.

Well I've not been around on the forum long either but from the time I have been here I've been impressed by the kind and generous attitude of the members on this site, which is sadly rare these days.
I'd like to wish Josh and his family all the best. We all need help and support some times so don't be afraid to shout out if you need to talk either personally or via the forum.

Hey Steve,

Anything he needs please let me know. He's in the right group now.

I recall I was in a situation when I was his age and on the streets and didn't have any place to go. We didn't have computers back then. So at least he has a way of making some cash.

Stick with it Josh. This is just a small chapter in your life that's about to close. If you stick to what you are doing the next one gets even better! I promise.

I live in Ireland, but travel regularly to New Zealand where I lived for 27 years. I am always here if you feel like a chat - I used to be a Private Investigator so I'm a good listener!!!

The Forum is a wonderful place for support. The best ever.

Sorry for the non-communication, I did read your message however haven't had enough time to respond.

I think what you've done here already is remarkable, let alone offering to help someone you have never even spoken to and I'm absolutely overwhelmed by your compassion!

My sister is a lovely person, although every teen-ager (myself included previously) can have their moments, she is doing well in school, goes to bed on time and all the things would could hope of someone that age. Maybe washing dishes comes next!
Shes aiming to be a commercial airline pilot, so shes well on track for her goals!

I also cannot be grateful enough by the amount of support I have already received by everyone on the forum. I am not normally someone who turns for help. I'm quite used to dealing with problems on my own, but realizing all these people taking time out their lives to wish me the best means the world to me and I am overwhelmed.

I will copy this onto the forum If I may and keep everyone up to date with my progress!

Just want to let you know that our family down here in Tasmania know and understand the problems you and your sister have now and will face ahead and we are saying prayers for you both as Christmas approaches.

Keep your chin up and tell your Sis to try and do the dishes occasionally

Hi Josh,

Thank you for sharing your remarkable story. You're brave people to pick up your life the way you did after such a difficult start in life. I myself was diagnosed with benign MS just 4 years ago and am doing well on the Jelinek method. I'd be happy to help in any way - listening, advice or otherwise. Just let me know.

Josh has asked me for a free month to try my signal service. My answer is that the signal service will be free for him forever. I will apport the Unicef part of the subscription.
