What happen? Did u trade in the correct TF, D1, set sto to 8,3,3 and trigger buy or sell at 75/25 vice versa? So far I have possitive trades, but this couple week no auto trades..

Don't hold your breath. Steve is the one most likely to do so, and I think he's occupied with other things. If I get a chance I will try re-running my Tradestation tests on the 4H timeframe.

yup i was actually using the 75/25 fxozgirl setfile with those settings

Pipcruiser, I modified my TS backtest to trade H4 bars -- turned out to be very simple. Since H4 is trading on a smaller timeframe and thus going for smaller moves, I arbitrarily cut all pip sizes (TP, SL, jumping stops, etc) in half. That's probably not optimal but I figured it was a decent starting point. Settings otherwise were identical between D1 & H4, using 80/75 and 20/25 entries.

Results: sometimes better, sometimes worse. E.g. in the last 4 years, D1 on EURUSD lost about 3000 pips. H4 GAINED 4000, with a nice steady win rate. That wasn't on my "Good Pairs" list but it's a nice improvement!

But not everything benefited like that. Here are the results for the other pairs from my "Good Pairs" list. I show the 4-yr and 1-yr returns, e.g.: XXXYYY: D1 4yr / 1yr; H4 4yr / 1yr.
AUDUSD: D1 -2000 / -150 ; H4 +600 / +150
CADCHF: D1 +3000 / +1000 ; H4 +1000 / -600 (H4 won pretty steadily from mid-2008 to mid-2011)
EURAUD: D1 +750 / +600 ; H4 +750 / +600
EURJPY: D1 +2800 / +1500 ; H4 +3000 / -1700
GBPUSD: D1 +3800 / +2000 ; H4 -3500 / -1500
NZDCHF: D1 +1500 / -800 ; H4 +400 / -150
NZDJPY: D1 -4800 / -700 ; H4 +2800 / -650
USDCAD: D1 +2700 / +700 ; H4 +250 / +600
USDJPY: D1 +3100 / -150 ; H4 +1400 / -1000

So: trading these pairs, you'd have made 10850 pips in 4 years with D1, 4000 pips in 1 year. You'd have made 6700 pips in 4 years with H4, and -4250 in 1 year.

H4 might work better on other pairs, like it did with EURUSD. But I don't see anything here that gets me too excited. D1 seems to work at least as well.

I stand to be corrected, but I think you guys might find that Shelley's silence here has a lot to do with the fun she is having with 10.2. For sure, it is the cause of my pre-occupation Gary cited a few posts ago.

No disrespect either to Shelley's system or to my own realisation of it in Gday, but you guys are probably better off learning about 10.2. Visit the Nanningbob forum for details, if you do not know what I am talking about.

No disrespect taken Steve, you are absolutely correct...my time is focused on learning NB 10.2 which is showing some amazing results to date. (2000+ pips in 8 days trading)

I have been very happy with the results Gday has produced and I'm really pleased that there seems to be quite a few people who have also had success...my original goal was to create a simple but effective strategy which I think was achieved.

But...

When you see a strategy like NB 10.2 in action, and 6 years in the making, you cannot fail to be impressed by the work Bob has put into it and the underlying testing, tweaking etc that he has done to perfect it over the years.

So do yourself a favour guys and head over to the Nanningbob 10.2 forum

I'd also like to add again my thanks to Steve for automating Gday and Gary who has assisted in lots of backtesting as well and everyone else who has jumped in and answered questions or offered solutions. It's these sorts of things that make this such a great forum and with over 17500 views of this thread, we must have done something right
