Thanks for the results Gary. The best pairs for the last 4 years seem to be then:

CADCHF, EURJPY, GBPUSD, USDCAD, USDJPY, and possibly NZDCHF and EURAUD.

I think I'll narrow my demo to these pairs. So far I am up 82 pips since 5/2.

I am unclear on which stoch settings you used for OB/OS, you state "...using 80/75 and 20/25 entries"?

For 4 years of D1, yes. Be aware though that not all of them have done that well recently. E.g. CADCHF is flat for the last 6 months, and actually was flat for all of 2009-2010.

Shelly changed her logic to "short when stoch gets above 80, then moves below 75; long when it gets below 20, then moves above 25."

Oh that's right, but no new EA has been created for this rule has it, or is it in the EA presently?

Did she change it Gary or was there just talk of changing it? I played around with it but forward testing only so it would take a long time running parallel for any definitive results. I do like the idea though so I may play a bit more if I can break myself away from NB!!

EDIT: - ah - maybe just manually trading that way?

Yes, I think she was manually trading it that way. I don't think the EA has been changed. I don't know if she's still running the EA.

Yes I did change to that, and I was using the EA (changed the settings in the ea to 75/25), but the EA was then taking trades only after reaching 75/25 (not necessarily reaching 80/20) at times.

When this was the setup, I removed the EA as I only want trades that breach the 80/20 levels first before retracing...so a clear move into ob/os.

I've just started testing adding the RSI to the charts as a final confirmation for trading...

basically if all previously existing requirements are met, as final confirmation I am checking if rsi is above 50 to confirm a buy signal and below 50 to confirm a sell signal.

Not sure how this will work out, but in this ranging market I think it will reduce some of the false signals.

See the attached chart for audcad, the EA took a buy trade at yesterdays open (which was correct by the parameters set), the trade is currently approx 40 pips in drawdown, but using the rsi, it is clearly below the 50 which would have prevented a trade.

I will continue to update with my findings.

Wow, Shelley. Blast from the past or what?

Ok, so maybe not such a distant past but far enough back for me to have forgotten what this is all about.

If you are still testing, then I am happy to keep on developing. Let me know if I can help.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

Haha, you're right, but there is more good about this strategy than bad and I just keep coming back to it

Ranging/choppy markets is what was hurting the strategy, so I am trying to find a way to reduce/eliminate the trades taken in these types of markets.

I will keep monitoring manually for a couple of weeks but I will let you know if I think any further developments would be beneficial...I am hoping using the rsi will make a big difference.

Thanks for the offer :D
