- - user choice of trading hour.
- trade pair list.
- at appointed hour, cycle through the pairs: buy when >= 0.8; sell when <= -0.8.
- mptm-style basket pips closure target.
This would be great Steve, thanks for the offer
...sorry to say at this stage, I don't give much more consideration before taking trades than I have already described, although I am reading and watching to continue learning. I initially started trading this way as a quick start method, so just chose the high probability trades and it's working out just fine so far.
It may well be a different story when the market starts to range.

Re: 10.2 forum
Get real Gary...it takes me at least 5 minutes a day to scroll through my charts to see which pairs meet my trading criteriagaryfritz wrote:Steve, if Shelley can book 2500 pips in 9 minutes or however long it took herthen a simple EA like that sounds like a good idea to me. Shelley, is that really all it takes? How many pairs do you typically trade? A 400 pip global closure across 2 pairs is a lot different to a 400 pip closure across 20. Maybe the EA should do a global closure when you get N * M pips open profit, where N is # of pairs currently open, and M is a target-per-pair value?
so for the 10 days or so I've been trading NB that's approx 50 mins of my time for that 2500 pips
But more seriously, I watch all pairs that my broker has, typically trading between 15-20 pairs at a time. I am trading small lots, and I like to try to spread the risk, so by using a global closure I'm not agonising over which losers to close or whether a trade is going to keep running or not. Given the amount of trades available at this time (I know the market is trending heavily so it's ideal for this method at the moment), I am more than happy with 400 pips or so every day or 2
Also I think though if I was to only take say between 10-15 trades, I would probably amend the GC to 300 pips and if less than 10 trades, set GC to 200.

Re: 10.2 forum
Having some problems posting on FF so here's what I'm looking for today.
- A retrace to the daily pivot point will be my entry (yes daily, I'm trying to get a nice retrace to limit risk)
- H4 TMA Slope to exceed 0.8 or -0.8
Sell
AUDJPY - TARGET MS2
AUDUSD - TARGET S1
CADJPY - TARGET S2, ALREADY IN FROM BEFORE
CHFJPY - TARGET S1
EURJPY - TARGET S2
EURUSD - TARGET MS2, ALREADY IN FROM BEFORE
GBPUSD - TARGET S2, ALREADY IN FROM BEFORE
NZDUSD - TARGET S1 NZDJPY - TARGET MS2
GOLD - TARGET MS2
Buy
USDCAD - R1, ALREADY IN FROM BEFORE
USDCHF - R2
Let's see what happens.
NB, did you ever consider using D1 Pivot Points?

Impressive. Seems like Wed/Thurs is optimal with the trend portion of the system.fxozgirl wrote:OK, my trading of NB 10.2 is over for today...

Just to triple confirm... You aren't using the pivots at all. Just entering whichever currency is above .08 or below -.08 and then auto close when 400 pips are reached. Pretty crazy results!fxozgirl wrote:OK, my trading of NB 10.2 is over for today...

Are you using D1 as your guide or another TF?fxozgirl wrote:garyfritz wrote:Let me make sure I understand, Shelley: when the slope exceeds +/- 0.8, you go long/short, and you exit at 400 pips global profit.
Is your global closure for all your add-on positions in one pair, or for all positions in multiple pairs (if so, which pairs)?
How do you exit if you don't reach 400 pips open profit? Or hasn't that happened yet?
That's right Gary...I like to keep it simple and so far these high probability trades are working.
I check my charts after work (my time) which is just before London open...if slope exceeds +/- 0.8 I place a long/short trade.
MPTM is set as I described above for BE and/or global closure.
I have had quite a few trades retrace and close at BE, if I'm awake and notice and the slope is still +/- 0.8 I will re-enter, otherwise I just leave it.
So far since trading the GC has hit 4 times, and last Friday I closed manually for (I think) about 280 pips as I didn't want the trades open over the weekend with the issues in Europe.
Because I have limited time to watch the trades and most of the action happens over night for me, using the GC has been great and I'm pretty sure I would not have booked that much profit watching each pair. Anyway...works for me

That's right, but I'm only trading off the daily and only strictly above/below 0.8 and ensuring that WOH is in the same direction...because the slope indicator is so strong (ie. above/below 0.8), and I am just taking the trades just before London open.
After watching for a couple of weeks now, activity seems to pick up just after London open, after being a bit quieter throughout my day (Sydney/Tokyo session). So it appears any retraces etc occur during this time and then resuming the trend once London opens.
And yes, auto closing with a global closure of 400 pips, so a rough average of between 20-35 pips gain per pair.
