I'm not up to date with ALR nowadays but when I played with it it had a chance of blowing the account, and that was trading just one instrument. Imagine with 28 pairs. You would need a very big account and be trading very small positions in comparison to reduce the risk as much as possible.

Perhaps a coincidence - this week fluctuated around zero demo account. Occasionally spoke about € 150 profit.

Dear Renee, George,
Thank you for your clear answer. I understand and trade the same way that George explained.

However I thought the filter compare the PA > or < MAperiod on each TF and confirm arrow on each TF.
example : IF I got and UP signal on M5 and M15, the filter would be PA or MA's crossed is under or above the MAfilter and if the result on M5 (under or above) and M15 is different, the arrow from M5 is not show up.

With your explanation, it works differently based on the comparison between the values of MAfilter[current candle] and Mafilter[previous candle] on higher time frame if it concord with the current TF. So I'm a little bite lost there. :geek:
George you say right about resumption/movement will start on the LTF and of course we enter the trade according to higher TF trend but does the function :
TradingTimeFrame (Default: M1):
This is the time frame used for the evaluation of the final trade entry rule. Once the system
has identified a Strong currency XXX and a Weak currency YYY, it intends to BUY
XXXYYY. However, before doing so, it works out the Slow MA for XXXYYY on
TradingTimeFrame and the Fast MA for XXXYYY on TradingTimeFrame and it checks the
following:
(1) Bid > Fast MA
(2) Fast MA > Slow MA
For an intended SELL these conditions become:
(1) Ask < Fast MA
(2) Fast MA < Slow MA
do the filter to trigger the order only into the trend on HTF ? For example if MA filter is 10 on H1, I just put the Slow MA at 120 on M5 trading Time Frame rite ?
The point I would like to discuss if the MAfilter is comparison on all HTF, we filtered out the pullback ok but the EA would enter the reversal too late on exhaustion period no ?
Maybe it's a monumental "connerie" as idea but an option on MAfilter TF would allow to play with the pullback and sometime enter the reversal sooner. non ?

Hi Heraclees.

This my understanding of how Mad works...

Condition1:
Timeframe1: 5 min t/frame...Lets say you are using your Ma cross as a filter and u are using 21/60lwma as you combination, and 21 has crossed below 60 it means you have a sell trade in hand.
You have included this time frame in the currency strength test...lets say u have set it to 4 which is the minimum... the ea would have to see at least 4 down arrows in the 5 min column for the symbol to meet the criteria of condition 1 to open a trade....if no 4 arrows no trade no matter how far 21 has crossed below 60.

Condition2:
Timeframe2: 15 min t/frame exactly the same conditions as above that is if you have included it in the currency strength test,,,it will only use this t/frame as a condition if u have specified it in the currency strength test..

If you have not specified time frame 3 to7 in the currency strength test it will not use any of these t/frames as a condition to open the trade.

Condition3:
Use Ma filter: if u set this to true you have specified it as a trading condition...works in candle closes...If you have specified 21lwma as your filter - time frame 1(5 min candle) 21ma must be below the 21 Ma on the 15 min time frame in order for your trade condition three to be met for a sell trade....so bearing in mind if you use this filter it could seem that the trade is entered late...but it is an extra measure to test currency strength..

Sorry guys not finished with the post and submitted by accident:

Condition4:

Trade parameters: I prefer to set this to slower Ma cross to get the full benefit of entering a trade in the direction of the medium term trend. If I have set my trade parameters to 5 min it will only open a trade at the close of the 5 min candle only if the above conditions have been met and in addition we have an extra filter here with the slow Ma and fast Ma and if we use this filter cleverly we can get into good trades.

Many checks and balances with this ea and if we use it smartly we can go from scalps into medium term trades

Anyway guys Tc

So in lieu of all this what springs to mind is to set the Ma filter to a smaller Ma period should take care of the pullbacks :)

Anyway guys I have had mixed results even on my manual live account....and trading has not been easy with price hopping all over the place,,,like watching ping pong.....the only real mover has been the Jpy cross pairs....

These things will happen and unless we have proper trending conditions life will not be easy for Ma traders,,,

Just wanted to share with you guys.
I have been using the MAD EA as a manual indicator. The method that I have been using successfully for the past couple of weeks is that when the arrows line up for any individual pair (eg. EURUSD M5 M15 M30 H1 H4 all arrows pointing up) then I will place a SELL trade, my theory being that the pair is overbought and is ready for a pullback. I am only looking for a 20 pip target on each pair, generally I can expect between 4 to 8 pairs and then I use a global close (eg. 8 pairs X 20pips =160pips)
This has been profitable so far and I will continue to test further.
To make it easier to find the 5 arrow pairs is there a way to create an alert? Or is it already built in!
Next question, can the MAD EA be modified to trade this way?

Hi Cosmo,
Your strategy is fine as well but IMO you don't need the MAD-EA for that, just work with Multi Currency MTF MA Dashboard and you get the alert for what you want. :good:

I disagree Heraclees, if there is a way for the MAD EA to be modified to reflect Cosmo's strategy and do it on auto then that is an option that should definitely be considered, especially given that it has proven profitable for him thus far.

hi trader689,
no offense to cosmo, I was just answering the question
is there a way to create an alert?
. regarding the pullback trade for sure it's a valid strategy like seeking the resumption of the trend.

Heraclees,

not to start an argument, but - you did answer his first question regarding an alert, and he had another part of the question which was to modify MAD EA to trade in that fashion (auto). So if anyone can assist with that given it has proven profitable, I still think that is a valid angle
