It's insane.
Today over 1.000 pips, 3 pairs.
7,5% increase of balance, max DD 400 pips.

Congrats!

I am 351 pips so far on only the GBPJPY. I don't know how I can figure out DD in pips but so far the last basket closed went to use 51 Euros in margin. I really need to finish up an application with GlobalPrime since someone said that it doesn't charge margin on hedged positions. Tallinex definitely does. I hate to be leaving such a good broker but I think you guys at SHF have sold me the idea to move to GP.

When you add MPBM to a blank chart, and set the closing values to a huge number that won't get hit, it keeps track of the DD in pips. Knowing the pipvalue is appr. $0,10 for 0,01 lots, you can calculate the max DD on the account.

For me, using 0,01 lots per $1.000 means every 100 pips = 1% DD.

Another update - V 1g in post 1, inspired by my observing groups of pending trades drifting too far apart. I had a look at the code I wrote to prevent this. It was bollocks.

You can copy this over the top of the existing IsGapBetweenGroupsTooBig() function, starting at line 1324:

Set L4 to 'false' and you get lesser DD, but it takes longer to recover when price goes against the majority of positions.

A better option in my opinion is to make the pip-distance between trades bigger.
I set GBPJPY to 5pips, and get 'less' trades. Right now 13 buy and 12 sell. Since the winning side most of the time is twice the # of orders of the losing side, one or the other needs to open 6-7 trades again before being able to close.

Another way of dealing with this is expanding the grid to 15 or even 20 trades. It takes a big move to complete the grid, the basket might already be closed before that happens.

A lot of things to try out.
One thing strategytester told me, it is possible to have several hundreds orders in one pair if the EA is left alone.

Talking about a hoot, try this. I know that most of us open demos that represent the size of account we can hope to trade live, but try this instead.

Open a $100,000 demo account and trade GW at 1 lot. Lovely to feel how the rich feel from time to time. Who knows, but one day this might be you.
