The same situation as above applies where there are 6 open EURNZD sell trades (-$189), but no open buy trades even though there were no historical sell signals:

Awesome. I think I mentioned already in this thread that indeed Wednesday can be a "end-of-trend'-reversal day. Thanks Lifesys for the stats and confirmation.

I will continue to test trading all days....until N is large enough to make a well-founded decision.

Don't know how you managed that figure on Thursday, do you manually close positions?

Anyway, I got HGBnG running on 28 pairs and WOW! I've been running OOTB except I do want to trade Thursdays and Sundays... What I have noticed of this thing is that the BE settings and leaving the ones at a loss alone create a problem for me so I am experimenting with one of Tommaso's basket managers.

Sticking more to Bob's plan of taking profit when you can, I think I could have avoided making a loss yesterday as I was at a profit around + 80 Euros but when the BEs started closing some of my trades I was in the -100 Euro or so. I'm going to try using a BE+JS basket of 50 Euros and see if it can fly.

Thanks Steve, next month it may well be Thursday

I know some missed the big haul from the ECB Press conference last night as they excluded Thursday.
Think I will just exclude exclusions except delayed start Mon. & early washup Fri.
Averaging > 1% / day, at this rate I can suffer one not so good day a week.

Although not time related, I was just was thinking if we could experiment as well with option of having RAD arrows to trigger the sending of the grid.

Sounds like A Plan to me. This EA has moved so far away from Cy's original concept that I think we can have some experimental versions.

I have added full day trading controls to the bot - TradeTuesday etc. I will release it as the live trading version in time for the markets opening, and add RAD to an experimental version.

A losing week for me, but a small loss and in a good cause.

For now, concentrate on the non-GJ rows. Excellent to see the results. 640 pips from 29 trades - and I missed the massive moves on Thursday because I had trading disabled on that day. I closed the UC trades about an hour from close of business last night and am flat for the weekend.

Turning to GJ, those losses came about when HGBnG closed the trades on Tuesday, shortly before Kevin stepped in and corrected some of the code. Yellow vertical line is the start of the week.

I could have closed the trades in profit had I seen the retrace coming. The trades would now be hedged without the faulty coding. The account would be 1,242 pips better off and $559 more in profit. That would have made one hell of a lot of difference to the week's headline profit.

As soon as the trades closed, I remove HGBnG from GJ and installed GW instead, so again ignore GJ. From Wednesday on:

$300 profit from two days of trading is pretty good going. I consider my GJ experiment to be a failure but I will talk about it in the GW thread. HGBnG is back on my live GJ chart for next week.

Turning to my 'full on' demo. This is every pair opened by the open the lot indi available at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 48#p100848. Two weeks trading with an opening balance of $5,000. No manual intervention:

The fly in the ointment is this little lot - floating trades still open:

I see from the GJ chart what would have happened to my three live closed trades: the market rose, triggered some buys which closed on a high semafor, leaving the sells still open. Protective buy stops are in place, so Kevin's code edits are proven to work.

There are also 10 NChf buys open. It looks as though the original signal was a sell, but the market rose and filled some of the buy stops. Then it plunged and triggered some sells that closed on a low semafor. The bot obediently placed a fresh grid of buy and sell stops, and some more buys filled.

It will be fascinating to see what happens when I add Rad trading into the mix.
