I have been using Holy Grail Bob n Grid and getting some amazing results. That is until I got a warning from Global Prime that the Ea was sending around 70000 order modification requests in the span of a day. That went up to 377000 and a very final warning as well. Is it something to do with my settings or something I have overlooked completely as the Ea worked fine until about 4 days back. Any help would be much appreciated

Make sure you have the latest version. It contains fixes for some faulty code.

Hi all!

I am finally through reading the main post and want to say: Amazing piece of work!

I hope this is the right place ro make some noob suggestions/requests/ideas...

1. Is it possible to implement some kind of news filter. Nothing complex, just a "trade /not trade" x minutes before or after major news events.

2. Would it be possible to implement sone kind of "dynamic" grid? It could be adaptive maybe to a working s/r level / fibu / .... indicator. Just to make sure the ea does not place a buy limit just underneath a strong resistance or vers virca.

Maybe these Ideas are obsulete anyway because of the steategy of the ea so I post it in here just to get some feedback.

Try using the free indicator Ice FX NewsInfo it works great for shutting down EA's during news events. Here is the link http://www.icefx.eu/newsinfo/

New user. I know, groan.

I have HGBG attached to my chart. All looks ok. But it does not initiate any trades. Instead HGI just seems to be firing its normal on-screen alerts. In steve's manual there is a parm SendAlertNotTrade which sounds like the problem I am experiencing. As embarrassing as this is, I can't for the life of me find that parm anywhere. The documentation points me to Empty4 Tools/Options.

I have Allow automated trading enabled in Empty4 Options/Experts and Enable alerts and Allow live trading HGBG common options enabled.

Can someone please point me in the right direction.

EDIT: Still haven't found the parm but I tried adding it to the set file and it seems to have been accepted. I still wouldn't mind knowing how to do it properly.

EDIT: Sorry to be all over the place. That did 'fix' it but HGBG then went in to a loop of order entry and cancel. If I run HGBG OOTB, just changing the version, it is not trapping HGI signals. i.e. Is not taking any action. The HGI signals are displayed on the chart. Has anyone seen this behavior before? I assume I'm doing something wrong but running OOTB leaves me with limited opportunities to screw up.

Hi,

I'm also new to the forum (and EAs in general) and I'm having a similar issue. I've been lurking for a while trying to get HGBnG set up on my PC.

I'm probably going to get reprimanded for overlooking something obvious, but it's either that or give up. I've already spent a week trying things and trawling through the forum looking for clues and I don't know what to try next.

I can see the "SendAlertNotTrade" was indeed a setting previous EAs, but I don't see it in the HGBnG source code.

I've had 10 charts open all day (using the latest HGBnG with HGI v16.07) but nothing is happening. I've also attache HGI itself to the charts in case that was the problem. I see the signals (arrows/waves) but no trades are being made.

I apologize in advance if I'm being dim, but can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Spot, Fxtrader98,

I'm no expert (they are all busy working code magic with the EA) but I have a couple of things for you to try just to rule out the simple stuff.
-First, check your crim allows automated trading.
-Second, make sure you enable live trading. Press 'F7' -> select 'common' tab and check the box.
-Third, enable EAs. Press ctrl+o -> 'Expert Advisor' tab -> allow automated trading
-Fourth, download the very latest version of HGB 'n G. There have been some developments today that may explain some of the behaviour you have experienced.
-Fifth, check your experts and journal tabs - is there anything in there that gives us a clue? Are you getting alert popups for trades?
-Sixth, download someone's .SET file and give that a go.

Thanks heaps for responding Anima999.

I loaded new HGBG 1e. Ran it OOTB. It submitted orders but then immediately cancelled them followed by an error.

Any further insight would be really appreciated.

P.S. The snippet shows H4 and M5 messages mixed. I tried an M5 just to get some action then of course, H4 kicked in too. Both time-frames experienced the same open/modify/delete/error behavior.
