I had the same warnings, after moving my demo to GP they stopped......
Also they charge no margin on hedged orders.

Make sure you choose 1:200 for demo or be in for a surprise when going live...

Some promising results using version v1c, 15min TF, and trend filter 34EMA Close (use Bob's MA and enter 34 in the fast and slow period, until Steve adds a single MA).

Remember to focus on the netts pips (for average consistency) and not the Nett P&L (which is linked to lot size you use and may not be consistant)

Note: this was demoed on my home PC and not VPS... so I'd actually turned my computer off with active & pending trades going. I then fired it up back at around 6am GMT, let HGBnG v1c do it's thing and noticed the gains - so very promsing

Warning: Don't do this on a live account, use a VPS or keep your computer on all day/night if you want hands-free approach and you have active trades going and pending orders waiting... you may be shocked when a news event happens while you sleep... (anyone looking for a VPS with decent spec to experiment with try http://my.nodevps.net/?cmd=cart&action=add&id=97 (I'm actually paying £10/month from a SPECIAL Oct 2015, but $16/month is still cheap) but for actual live trading you may like something more secure/low latency, if you trade enough with GP (20 Lots/month) you can get VPS services for Free)

Gertje: using your 5min & SAPTM Setfiles, also showed promising results this week... even with 10 currencies and no.s of allowed trades (active & pending) not being reached (yet). DD is a bit high for me though, could probably be reduced by changing lot sizes and a decent size account to trade live. But nice discovery, I'm considering the basket technique if it helps with DD, or give each currency wings by not confining them to a basket, but not sure yet. What are your thoughts?

I'll open an account with GP at some point once I have spare capitol... I took a big hit in January after that Asian Crash but I treat it as a cost for my education (psychological, mental, confidence level and change in strategy), and ended up back here again, so not a huge loss in comparison and now more confident than ever

I'm currently taking advantage of free VPS, a leveraged 400:1 account, autochartists and etc...

Yes, trading a lower leverage account will be a big supprise... when I move over to GP I'll do some tests before I set up live.

Nice recovery from the bot this morning. I'd got two orphaned Long USDJPY trades that got dragged down in the decline on the 16th/17th while all the sells took profits on successive semaphores. At one point they were both down around 200pips each - a potential loss much greater than the sells had made in profit. Well, what goes down...... has been recovered nicely by the recent rise and the whole basket is now back in profit and building nicely. The DD isn't comfortable but it paid to sit it out in this case!!

Will give v1f a try and enhance it with a more conservative kind of 34EMA, to define up, down and range... And see how it goes... Using knowledge discovered from post 2

Just a bit OCD with the bot being able to handle any broker, including criminal... But can live and manage with the limitations for the time being... Playing with house money at the moment with no equity invested, and infinite return

Just a quick note while I was testing v1c I had a grid with more than 9 pending trades open with non active... so the pendings didn't clear after manual closing trades...

I changed code from line 4957 from

Code: Select all

if (PendingTradesTotal < (GridSize * 2) )

to

Code: Select all

if (PendingTradesTotal < (GridSize * 3) )

and it all cleared.

Maybe a grid does get bigger than 10...?
