Thanks heaps for responding Anima999.

I loaded new HGBG 1e. Ran it OOTB. It submitted orders but then immediately cancelled them followed by an error.


Any further insight would be really appreciated.

P.S. The snippet shows H4 and M5 messages mixed. I tried an M5 just to get some action then of course, H4 kicked in too. Both time-frames experienced the same open/modify/delete/error behavior.

There are many and varied ways in which to break an ea. Looks like you found another one.

I've got a couple of questions re the screen prompts and results I have been getting with my HGBnG (1K).

So far I have been doing OK results wise. Thanks Steve!

My challenge is that I am getting a lot of continual 'error 130' flags (after the HGB hits BE; closes 50% & drops into the JS mode until stopped out) resulting in a whole parcel of cancelled 0.01trades rather than the expected whole parcel of 0.01 trades that made money.

I figure that I have gotten myself snookered in the corner behind the 8 ball with what I thought I was asking HGBnG to do -- grab 40 pips and treat whatever else as the cream on the coffee.

I went on line and found this (http://www.forexboat.com/ordersend-error-130/) but, because my knowledge & understanding of programming is <0 - the instructions are pretty much gobbldegook.

I figure that Steve has gotten all his 'Ducks in a row' because HGBnG is running like clockwork - so the problem is at my end.

My problem is that I cannot programme my way out of a wet paper bag to save myself.

Would someone please have a look at my attached set file and tell me where I have gone wrong - and what I need to change to so that it stops hanging up when it hits BE and cancelling the trade and does what I want - drop into the JS mode until it either hits my TP or gets stopped out!

I mentioned to someone else recently the saying, "Just because we can do something, does not mean we should do it." We can all try crossing the road with our eyes shut. Might not be entirely a good idea.

It looks as though there is something preventing the 50% close. This partial closure forms no part of what we do here so I am not going to bother about it. I suggest you go back to just letting the trades run until one of the closure features kicks in.

I cannot back up what I am about to write with actual figures but my instinct is that all you are doing by closing half of your trade at BE - and probably using BE at all - is losing 25% of your profits.

No idea about your numbers, but I'm averaging over 2% daily, trading the 7 USD-crosses and GBPJPY.
Today the DD was cut in half by some nice movements.

Sounds about right. I got 11.4% ROI by running all pairs that GP offers it's been 1 week (with a few floating negative pips still in open trade.)

Steve, after our discussion; at your behest I was working towards seeing if I could get HGBnG to emulate my/our live trading style.

According to my turbo-charged Abacus that's $102.99 in the past 24 hours; $196.81 overall or +/-$65 per trading week... trading pennies!!

Back in the 40s Dad used to say that anything that returned him better than the annual bank interest (2.5%pa) per day was an excellent investment.

Mate, I reckon that YOU ARE A BLOODY LEGEND!!! and that we should all bow down and pay appropriate homage -- to the raucous accompaniment of cheers, whistles, pipes flutes, etc!

Just caught up with the thread, got this error when trying to run the latest version as per SH's latest posted setfile (adapted to the latest parameter additions), and getting this mistake.

I've tried looking up the error on both threads, to no success.

Any clues, anyone?
