Hi all,
The question is simple and is directed to all senior - experienced traders:
What is the most appropriate plan for withdrawing profits, from a profitable forex account
Apparently most retail traders tend to "forget" withdrawing profits and leave them accumulate hoping that they will increase their account size.
I would like to know what do you thing is most appropriate and especially interested to find out what the "BIG BOYS" do with thei corporate accnts
Matt

My plan is to withdraw only half so I can benefit from compound interest. Not sure how regularly yet and I won't start withdrawing until I have got my account to a big enough size. If I can get so that I am making about 1% a week (on average and fairly consistently) it won't take too long till I can start taking a small salary from it. 1% a week is going to be my target.
I'm a newbie though and haven't started using proper sized accounts yet. Just demo or small real accounts.

try to made a withdrawal based on initial deposit portion. for example 10k deposit, total balance 15k including profit, i suggest to made 10-20% withdrawal based on your initial deposit, for amount 1k-2k per month.
this would keep your account in balance and keep your margin safe.

I'd withdraw the moment I make the same amount that I deposited initially (if its a profitable account of course). After that I'd take out a percentage of what I make, not a fixed sum. In my profitable months I've taken out between 10-40% of the profits, but usually in the lower end of that range so that I can continue with the same strategy and distance to TP/SL.

Withdrawing money from your trading account is a great idea and a good money management strategy that prevents us for any risk of losing a big amount of money.

It seems to me that money management is probably one if not the most important aspect of trading. No matter how good trades you take if you have no solid plan as to how to preserve your hard earned capital then you will probably end up giving it all back to your broker.
I beleive that disipline is important coupled with a solid plan... The latter I am still looking.
Thank you guys for all your input. Great stuff!
Matt
PS.
Check this little gizmo (http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... p?id=60596) which can help icrease your balance with ease providing of course your trading is profitable. You can find it here ---> http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 76#p139276
