I will be starting 4 new demos and abandoning all previous demos this week.

1-3. Will all be Stop orders only with one at 2.5% equity close, one at 10% equity close, and the third handsfree.

4. Will be Stop and Limit orders running handsfree.

Handsfree however, to me means if I see some major profit going on I will still close all manually just as I would live.

All will be using the Offsetting feature.

I keep saying I'm almost ready to go live! Hopefully soon, I just want to be sure I'm comfortable.

What an amazing EA this is!

Had a long recovery from my Wed (for many of you this is Thurs) with too many trades opening in the wrong direction. I will be implementing a Wed morning close, same as my Fri close, and not trade Wed. This should be my finally weeks test before going live, as long as I am totally satisfied with the results this coming week.

So I don't trade Sunday, trade Mon and Tue, close all Wed morning, trade Thurs, and close all Fri morning. At the time of writing this all trades have been closed out 40 minutes ago.

Disabled offsetting for now.

Dropped USDCHF, I don't think I like this pair. Would have made way more profit without it this week! Running on AU, EG, EJ, EU, GJ, GU, NU, UC, UJ

So here are my results for this week. The 2.5% close demo did the best job of protecting profits, over the longrun this may be the way to go. The handsfree Stop only was in the lead until Wed, so interesting to see next week when I don't trade Wed what the numbers look like.

EDIT: I recieved a pm asking for the 2.5% Close EA and set file so here it is. Keep in mind that as the account balance goes up so will the amount of equity increase it takes to close at 2.5%.

Since using this system with HGBnG, live account has grown average +2% / day compounding. Very pleased, not looking for changes!

I take the 'dollar-cost-averaging' approach.

This is great!!! Thanks for sharing this info with us Paul. +2% daily is great! Some months it's little more but on average 2% compounded will make you very happy in a years time

I used to trade another system couple of years using the dollar-cost- averaging approach. It was profitable but it would take a month or so to close out trades but it would bank 1500 to 1800 pips on average. This is a really good way of looking at HGBn'G

I'm getting a similar returns to you but I haven't used any money managers. I close myself when in trouble and to try to manually grid it out. This week was bit choppy for me because of new developments of the ea which I kept updating as released because I really wanted to test out the new feature Steve worked on to minimize the DD. This will allow me to sleep better at night hopefully!

After looking at last two weeks. I have noticed that CloseTradesOnRelevantSemafor //This is the close of the previous candle and CloseImmediatelySemaforAppears were not helping with some of the moves and left a lot pips on the table. I'm going to turn these two variables off for next week and depend more on the yellow waves to do the closing.

Anyone else notice this?

Previous TargetCloseAllTradesBE-EA posted was actually a stand-alone mod. of the version I use. Realise earlier HGBnG versions used 400pip SL & later ones remove SL's, hence annoying alerts. Should have tested well before posting, sorry. Attached has line added to avoid cycling SL alerts.

The 'useSL_BE' is a bit of a distraction anyway from incrementing basket target.

This week ran v.Q + v.U OOTB on same account (for comparison) - obviously some trade overlap & increased risk. Yesterday, being Friday, set target at 2%. From approx. -10% DD during day (UTC +10), during NY session target incremented 2.5% ...> reaching 5% target at approx 01.30am our time. I manually closed everything at +4.46% for the day. Worth waiting up to watch!! Four >4% targets reached in 4 days, live acc. (just v.Q) is not far behind.
With a clean fresh start next week interesting to see direct compare but it seems any version of HGBnG is better than most else!

I had the exact same observation last week, and disabled the semaforclose too.
Too often there are lots of trades going in the right direction and being closed immediately after the spread is gained due to the semafor.
I disabled rad-trading as well, the trendarrows and waves give better entrypoints in my view.
Closed out a lot op losing trades last thursday and friday after I saw that I bought the tops and sold the bottoms on some pairs. Put Bob's ma's in place again and the lightbulb went on.

Disabeling the semaforclose gave room for GBPJPY to recoup some losses (look at the value of the cash UPL);

And also made it possible to close out the losing sells on USDJPY, using the buys to offset them. The setting "HedgeTakeProfitPips" was used here and set to a value of 100;

Can I just suggest be careful in 'picking' pairs & days of week! A bit like picking winner of a horse race.
'Most successful day of the week' varies over months.
I use Excel pivot table to analyse exported results on demo & live account and the results often strongly differ from observation of other members.
1. On a GP account since 16th Feb, USDCHF has made >$3000, in top 1/3rd. (NZDUSD has been far the biggest loser in that time).
Not suggesting you are wrong, but trading conditions constantly change and what you drop this week may be someone else's 'winner' next week.
2. When Steve added the "Not on Thursday", I had just had 3 great weeks, highest gain % on Thursdays.
I null all 'Day filters' except -
- Monday start 0700 server time (1400 local) as Monday twitching is well known &
- Friday stop all new trades 0700 server time as often close everything later Fri. to minimise DD.

Thank you very much for your suggestions! I think you are right on both counts. Picking pairs and trading times based on a short period of time is not a good idea. That being said I am preparing to go live with funds that I can afford to lose but do not obviously want to lose. My hope for now is just to find the "safest" combination of settings to start building my account. Once my account balance is built up to a safer level for example 1500 I can trade 0.01 per 1500 and add more pairs. I will be starting with 1000 aud and have seen that get eaten up pretty quickly by trading at the wrong time.
