So I'm going to upgrade right now.....

Thanks to all who contributed to this EA, much appreciated.
This is my 1st day testing on 16 pairs -
AUDJPY,AUDUSD,CADJPY,EURAUD,EURCAD,EURGBP,EURJPY,EURNZD,EURUSD,
GBPAUD,GBPCAD,GBPJPY,GBPNZD,GBPUSD,NZDJPY,NZDUSD,USDCAD,USDJPY
Although Balance is positive, Equity never has been, so not able to report any success as yet
Interesting to note that none of these pairs reached the ADR showing a lack of volatility. Not unusual for a Monday and that will pick today with Australia interest rate decision and Non Farm Payroll on Friday.

Today was a bankholiday in the UK, hence the low vooatility.The_Snowman » Mon May 02, 2016 9:13 pm wrote: Interesting to note that none of these pairs reached the ADR showing a lack of volatility. The more this thingy trades the more sure I am that lack of volatility is what we need.
We need pairs bouncing sideways, setting up groups of 4 trades then doing a simple offset. What we don't need is a pair hurtling off hundreds of pips on one direction, reversing DistanceBetweenTrades and sending an opposite direction trade before resuming its hurtle in the opposite direction, then reversing DistanceBetweenTrades.....................................
This behaviour is fine when the account has sufficient equity to withstand it. I would be prepared to bet that quite a lot of people here are afraid/unable to commit $2000 to a live trading account trading one pair at 0.01. Lack of $2,000 is the most likely stumbling block.
I will knock together an indi in the morning that will will show the ADR of the forex pairs. From there I suggest we trade the least volatile pairs and see what happens.

I have this VolatiltyChart indi, that I coded a long time ago. It might still prove useful. I have just started a new RnR demo using all majors and minors except for the four weird USD crosses. I do not feel like trading the peso!
This way I can see how each pair does without any interference from me ie. using a trade manager. They will run totally handsfree.
I'm trading .01 lots on a $10000 demo.
I will post results for opened and closed trades at the end of the week.

Thanks for that, fits quite nicely onto the Trade Report chart.renexxxx » Tue May 03, 2016 9:32 am wrote: I have this VolatiltyChart indi, that I coded a long time ago. It might still prove useful. Columns are sortable.
Now in regards to the Volatility subject, is anyone making adjustments to the Distance Between Trades setting by taking into account the ATR / ADR or any other criteria?
Looking at this chart, I'm thinking maybe start with the 15 minutes range and see how that goes. The setting is there for a reason right? Each pair has different ATR / Volatility so can't expect GBPNZD to trade the same as EURGBP with default 6 pip range.
Another thought I had, in regards to closing offsetting trades, currently that applies only to the 1 pair, so I'm wondering what if there was a MegaSize RnR EA that ran on only 1 chart but traded all selected pairs and was able to offset the various winners and losers from all those pairs?
Would there be any advantage to that or I'm sure you'll let me know if that is completely crazy.
I suppose a separate trade manager wouldn't work as that would upset the RnR logic.
At any rate, the pairs I have running are 2 steps forward and 3 back right now, that is Balance is up $2,000 but Equity is down $3,000, still no success to report.

I think actually we need volatility and large swings, not smooth unidirectional trending, such as the EUR the last few days. THat's why GBPJPY has done so well.

Yes, I have been thinking along the same lines, created the code and am testing this as we speak. However, this is not the forum to discuss the multi-trader.The_Snowman » Tue May 03, 2016 4:02 pm wrote: Another thought I had, in regards to closing offsetting trades, currently that applies only to the 1 pair, so I'm wondering what if there was a MegaSize RnR EA that ran on only 1 chart but traded all selected pairs and was able to offset the various winners and losers from all those pairs?
