EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

I see we have another dimwit too lazy and stupid even to read the Welcome message I sent him. One of the points I make in the message is that dimwits are not welcome here. Ok, so I am a tad more circumspect about it that that, but only a cretin misses the point by quite the margin this one did.

Missak, one of the few thingies that makes my blood boil is posts by fatheads too thick and idle to do even the most basic reading, and so post stupidly. I would not care that you are an idiot were it not that I have to read your lunatic post. Everybody else here knows that a dunderhead like you only gets to post once, but I still have to read the bloody thing.

You are consigned to the dustbin of intellectually-challenged pea-brains unable to do anything more than read posts here. Goodbye.
Read the effing manual, ok?

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Thanks for sharing and all of your insights, you've made learning this EA a lot easier.

In your current set file, "HGBnG v1z H1 Stop n Limits" you have turned off BreakEven and JumpingStop compared to your previous versions. How come?

Also, thanks Steve and all contributors. Much appreciated. I'll try to contribute by providing testing platforms in the coming weeks.

Thanks,
TT
I am not aware that I have made changes to those as they were OTTB when Steve was experimenting with SnL... it may have changed by accident with the defaults of the EA changes as I updated from v1w to v1z... will double check and compare preset files - I usually modify the defaults via the EA directly, and use the preset files to backup my settings and share. As this EA is in constant development... settings for preset files created from updated EA may not be exactly the same as the old... I make manual code and settings changes directly to the EA so that I can just press reset to ensure the correct EA settings is loaded/used whenever there's a bad Empty4 Crash and I forgot to backup the presets.

Thanks for bringing this up...

Regards,

Peter

P.S. As money & risk management is very important, I've reinstigated SL, BE and JS for v1z as it worked well in v1w... apologies for the bloop! Files attached below :

Peter,
I love the setfiles you previously posted, just sitting on my hands to not to TP already :yahoo:
I looked into the MM-setfiles and noticed that you have BE@100 and after that a JS@50. Seeing that 3 out of 10 of your traded pairs have a TP>100, is there a reason you set BP@100?
It seems that the other 7 pairs already closed the trades before the BE could be set.

Again, not trying to critisize but looking forward instead.

It's running insane, that's for sure! :!!:

Gertje,

I should actually put more thought into this... but thanks for bringing this to my attention... we learn from each other :D

Money/Risk Management:
- For a conservative low risk approach: smaller SL, and use BE and JS or basket manager to lock in profits while HGB'nG do it's job.
- Less conservative, more risk approach: wider SL, let it run... and let HGB'nG do it's job... hands-off.

I think you can just set SL and turn off BE and JS... was just copying over settings that worked in v1w :D

I may do this now... turn off BE and JS and see how the experiment continues... but SL is important to preserve your capital.

For those trying out my presets, please feel free to experiement with Risk/Money management and adjust manually... must get your hands dirty and understand what's going on... :-)

Peter,

You're a star! :yahoo:

After clinging on to bad trades [mainly GBPUSD sells] for too long, trading H4, I went into huge DD, like 30% at the end of last week.
Yesterday I implemented your setfile, and made some changes to my taste and a few moments ago, after the news I was able to wipe the slate clean and book $180,- in the process.
The 10 pairs made suchs nice floating profit that I could kiss the GBPUSD trades goodbye and start over again.
:!!:

I do have some questions about the MyFXbook statement, if you don't mind.

Gertje,

Nice results... yes H4 was a bit slow for me and M15 or less whipsawed too much I haven't tested M30 yet... but H1 seems to be the nice sweetspot :)

What would be your question on the MyFXbook statement? I'll see if I can answer...

Note: The MyFXbook statement is the complete record of the GP demo account for the experiment usng HGB'nG v1q -> v1w -> v1z. :D

I agree with everything that is being said by peter here. My train of though is on the exact same track as you. With the new developments that Steve has done in the last week or so, it is very possible to make the new ea even more profitable.

Here are the advantages of new offsettings: with HGI we're getting a good timing entry and a better chance to end the trade in profit. And in the event HGI reverses or disappear we still have a good chance of profit on the flip site. If the EA hedges ie few buys mixed with few sells, we have complex offsettings in place to help it dig it our faster then ever before!

Being said all that folks remember one thing; DD is part of forex life. It cannot be avoided all the time. Unless we build a time machine type of EA to see the future and use it to get perfect entries!

Hi Peter,
Re your latest posts, I was also wondering wether or not you dropping MM features from your latest setfile was voluntarily or an omission (I assumed the latter! Hehe:P)
Anyway, the demos I’m currently running have been altered a little bit from my previous post.
I agree that H1 is the sweetspot, I’m only testing this timeframe now.
I’m running 2 instances of 2b with Offseting enabled and + 2 versions (One of 2b and one 1z based on your setfiles, which follow the following characteristics)
In common:
• H1 TF
• Stop and Limit
• Offsetting OFF
And the parameters I’m changing in these are the following:
• #3: CloseONYellowWave=true, CloseONSemafor=false, BOBMa TF 240 Period 60, MM True  (This was a variation from your settings)
• #4: CloseONYellowWave=false, CloseONSemafor=true, Single MA 60 Period 34, MM FALSE  (This was according to your latest settings)
My question is: Given the limited VPS space restrictions, would you recommend turning ON or OFF the MM functions in order to maximize results? I reckon that your good myfxbook results come from having this features ON the vast majority of the test’s run, correct?
Also, another question, you mention SL in one of your last posts, but both your latest setfiles have this at 0. Are you using some kind of external SL?
With so many options and so limited testing space, It’s very hard to make the call on what to test, and what not. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks Peter

I had the same issue regarding speed... :arrrg:
I "need" more action and kept on pushing the buttons Steve added to put in a limit- or stopgrid while smartguessing priceaction. That proved to be a real accountkiller.

I noticed on your myfxbook statement that, among others, NZDUSD and XAUUSD from 27/28-4 were still open, while there have been opposite signals on my charts after your opening time.

Did the EA not close these? Why? I also see whole pairs being shut without any symbol on my chart (happened to me as well already), any idea why they were closed?

Maybe I'm over-analysing this, results are awesome. Also on my end today.
Having UpDraft at the moment, how about that?!

I haven't really analysed the data yet, just letting HGB'nG do it's thing... NZDUSD and XAUUSD seems to be dragging its heels since 27/4 but either SL will kill it eventually, or I could manually close them (which I won't at this time as it's a hands-off test), or wait till it reach overall profit and close all by itselt in profit.

I treat it like day-trading in terms of psychology and allow HGB'nG do the intraday trading at H1... I don't mind staying/waiting for the long haul and try not to feel the urge to interfere too much :D

I think Steve is the best person to ask about why trades are being closed the way they are... as he and a few others built this baby.
