Your draw down is going to bite you in the tail. My results this week with the Master and the Dancers are much worse that last weeks' as well. May be the dancers need some direction, such that they are not aimlessly dancing in both directions.

Hello kwchau,

Which parameters of MinProfit and MinEquityIncrease are you using?

Thank you very much for sharing this EA. I have been testing it since you posted it. So far, the demo result is very encouraging. Up to now, it pocketed 3% without DD at the moment. The maxi DD was 2.9% on May 13, the second day of launch.

See charts below. I put it on 7 pairs (ignore XAUUSD which I stopped it on May 13). It basically rinse and repeat daily which has a very acceptable DD.

renexxx I posted this elsewhere in the forum a few days ago about giving direction to the grid trading from a level.
drswing » Mon May 16, 2016 11:58 am wrote:Hi Folks, I came to this forum to learn to develop EAs as all my trading is totally manual, and I could see how some automation would benefit my trading and free up more time.

I basically just trade from a level with a pretty tight stoploss. The level is drawn manually by purely reading price. Quite often I get the initial bounce, but end up holding too long and price reverses. I can see how a directional RnR type grid would gather some pips before price might reverse. Drawdown would not build up as there would be a stoploss beyond the level I am trading from.

So the idea is to draw the levels once a day, and an EA would trigger at that level and continue to trade until either stopped or ultimate target is reached. In the mean time between stop and target the RnR type grid would harvest pips :) .

If some one could point me in the right direction as to which existing EA would be best to modify to achieve this goal, it would be great. Or even help with one, better again :) . I have gone through lots of EA here in the forum but as I am new to this I am still a dimwit peasant.

If I could get this up and running I would then like to get permission to open up my own thread to show my trading progression with the EA.

Thanks for all the selfless work done here :good: . I hope to continue the sharing.

tommy
I started this morning trying to achieve this with your Dancer/Master EA.

Me too.. Its fun trading breakouts with this.. Rene any chance of three buttons on dancer chart for semi auto directional trading to save changing the expert properties in a hurry:

Buy. Sell. Range (both).

Certainly worth a few beers this one..

An MA on a small timeframe like M5 perhaps? This could give some direction.
No idea if it's easy to implement.

Loaded up the Griddancer / Gridmaster this morning. It's my first ever use of an EA. This afternoon had lots of fun watching it work, with positive results. I'm experimenting with 18 pairs, to see if the benefits of diversification can outweigh the spread-costs on some of the more minor pairs. I've decided to experiment with a Rinse 'n Repeat on 1% of equity gain. I'm trading on a 3000 GBP demo with 0.03 lot sizes. Thanks Renexxxx for a wonderful invention!

Here are two Demos, very short run but good results, thanks Renexxxx :hi:

GP demo 500 GBP started at 13:00 GMT 190516 Thursday, the green line is Friday evening where I was thinking to close for the weekend around 20:00 but it's a demo so let it run longer....

Robo Demo started at 13:00 180516 Wednesday, green line is start with current set, both have manual closure except this has one 50USD equity auto close, same again re Friday 20:00
