I came home tonight to a blown demo account. Lots and lots of TJF defensive hedges opened, then closed immediately, so something wrong in the logic somewhere. I will sort this out in time for Monday. In the meantime, the version in post 1 defaults to the feature turned off, so newcomers will only get burned if they are absolutely determined to make idiots of themselves.

I was lucky enough to be sat at the screen when that position of over GJ 50 sells unravelled. It happens soooo quickly sometimes and is brilliant to watch when it does. The position did actually close at a loss; c. 60 trades take a few seconds to close and a market moving rapidly enough to take DD from over -$400 down to closing at a hedge profit changes the picture very rapidly. That is just the price of doing business sometimes.

I am only trading RnR on my live account at the mo, on GJ. He makes $30 - $50 stress-free every day; I am happy with that.

V 1k is in post 1.

I saw the problem as soon as I looked at the close defensive hedge trades. The first one lasted for some time. Once it closed following an opposite direction HGI signal, it would send another, then close it, then send another, then close it............................

Well brunged up my bots; just a tad on the thick side.

Below some results from my forward testing RnR;

I started with testing what would be better, SingleSideComplexOffsetting 'ON' or 'OFF'. I used EURAUD for this, the results are from the last 4 weeks. Magic #0 is 'ON' and magic #1 is 'OFF'. 'OFF' generates appr. 50% more profit than 'ON';

Then last week I started testing if starting offsetting after more trades were opened would benefit the growth of the account, and used the EURNZD for this. Magic #0 has the standard of 4 trades before offsetting, magic #1 has 6 trades. Both have the SSCO 'OFF';

EURNZD proved a nice performer, but 4 trades before offsetting is better than the 6 I tried.

Since GBPJPY is still the MajorProviderOfPips, I started a new test today on this pair. SSCO 'off' and 3 charts;
- 5 pips grid
- 10 pips grid
- 20 pips grid
I will report on this next week.

In the mean time, I'm running RnR live and love it. I woke up this morning to nearly 1% growth, and this on a UK bankholiday......

Helpful results and 4 trades before offset is what I am using with a 5pip grid. It will be interesting to see the drawdown comparison with larger grid sizes.

Forget to mention, 5 pips grid on all demo's indeed!

My gut tells me DD MUST be lower with wider grids, and profit shouldn't be much less.
But then again, my gut blew many accounts in the past.....

Your gut has a tad more experience than it had in the past. All our guts blew accounts for entertainment back then.

A great example of how GJ clears out a mass of trades in a short time. The vertical yellow line marks the start of the fall that cleared out 60 open sells:

This is an M5 chart so the two-leg fall took about 90 minutes. The second leg cleared out the most trades. The result is 1,281 pips and $106 on the balance.
