Shelley's multi-pair basket trader

I thought I have downloaded the wrong version this early morning, so I went back to post #1 and downloaded the EA again. I immediately installed the EA and closed down my Empty4 and re-opened it and guess what, it worked. I was curious so went back to the earlier version v1k and it also worked. My guess is, you need to close Empty4 to have everything refreshed before the new version works. I hope this helps the rest of the folks. Cheers

i just copied the EA to the correspondig Empty4 folder and if you not restart Empty4 you won't see the new indicators/experts or whatever. But its tricky when you allready got the old version and copied the new one and you see shelley but visually the old version. Interessting that it won't function without a restart....

Yes, I have never seen anything like this before given that I have played around with more than 500 EAs so far. I know they are v1k because it says it on the chart when the EA is loaded. Right now, it seems to work fine. I have no idea what causes it, but as long as it fixes the issue, we can move on testing the new version.

I started the EA a few minutes after London Session and now up by 10 pips with 5 pairs running. Cheers

I must be doing something wrong, I've disabled TP, SL, BE and when Shelley places the trades (about 5-10 seconds later) they start closing.
I've tried setting large SL & TP but still the same thing , I would appreciate any help with v1k or can someone send me one of the earlier EAs before the j & k changes.

Same here...I upgraded to build 427 and running v1k and the correct 6 trades opened but immediately closed.

Looking into it a bit further now!

I had the same issue all day today and almost gave up testing this version, but now it works after restarting Empty4 by closing out Empty4 after you have the issue of auto closing trades. I am with build 427 as well.

I think hans had this problem a couple days ago when he upgraded....let's see if that's so....if not it's going to be a lot of coffee and patience.

Opened basket now (9:40 GMT+2). 5 trades as follows;
Sell x4: EURJPY, EURUSD, GBPJPY, GBPUSD
Buy x1: USDCHF
A few pips down (hovering btwn 4 and 10).

Update (10:15 GMT). Basket 31 pips up.

Dears, I have Empty4 built 419 and Shelley version K. Everything works fine.
Uploading earliest versions (from 1F to 1k). But please go over the thread and read all the comments by Steve.
Please find attached.

Did you stop the EA and remove the EA off from your chart before close down Empty4? You can try to download the EA again from post #1 and see if that makes a difference. It worked for me. It seems to me it works for many others as well with build 427.

Hi Slowpoke I solved my problems by reinstalling everything including redownloading the EA's i'm using after that it all works....

I thought that it could be useful if the EA could automatically exit any trades for which the TMA slope falls below the 0.8 value.

Along those lines, I've wondered -- instead of saying "open a basket at XX:YY time and see how that fixed basket works" -- how would it work if we say "run 24x5, open pairs when they get > 0.8, close pairs when they fall below 0.8" ?

I agree with Gary. So, because I understand that what's not broken doesn't need fixing, Steve, do you think it would be worth opening a new thread with Gary's EA : .

Another thought.
The only issue with Shelley's EA (which seems to be the only one at the mo) is that it would hammer you down during retracement periods. So it would be useful to be able to detect those pairs undergoing retracement so that they could not be traded. A solution to this could be get an early warning of retracement from H4 or H1 maybe e.g. if pa is above/under 5lwma s1 or using any other suitable indi.

Again, I know Shelley does not need fixing but I thought it does not stop us from brainstorming for a way of improving this EA without, of course, overcomplicating the system.
