0 is hedging off

............... hedging off the only RnR net profit for this week on my test although perhaps using M1 and M5 for hedging was a tad optimistic . :?

Not much to add here;
0 = HGI M15 hedge
1 = HGI H1 hedge
2 = HGI H4 hedge

Hi all

RnR (version 1o) both started at the same time on fresh $5000 GP demos.

RnR (ootb) - going well
RnR (ootb) - Demo8.JPG
RnR (ootb, csso_false) - suffering major DD. Had a TJF defensive hedge trade (0.3 lots) when there was over 30 trades open
RnR (ootb, csso_false) - Demo6.JPG

Well it seems that using HGI for hedging isn't going to work but it was well worth the test. Thanks for the peeps who PM me and tested a few different options.

Besides the test with the hedging, I also had a forward test with different gridsizing.
All in all, the Plain Vanilla RnR with a 5pip grid still comes out on top.

Overall overview;

5pip grid;

10 pip grid;

20 pip grid;

The 5 pip grid is the only one where the profit matches the max DD after 7 day's trading.

It's a big deposit, $5.000 before being able to run RnR live.
On the other hand, RnR is capable of returning $400/$500 weekly, even with $10.000 deposit it will be a return that hedgefund managers will drewel about.
I don't know about you guy's, but my bank doesn't give me that much intrest in a YEAR....

My account with the hedge testing is getting MarginCalls [$10.000,- account, trading 3 times 0.01 lots......] so I discontinue the test.

Guys, dydynamic is soon to hit you with some incomprehensible stuff that he claims will reduce drawdown. He does so at my invitation because I have not the foggiest idea what he is talking about and it is the only way to stop him badgering me via pm. Please take him seriously and try to translate what he is saying into something and idiot like me can understand.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What I do not understand is peoples' reluctance to grasp that RnR makes a lot of money so long as you stick to the 0.01 lots per $10,000 of balance rule, trading GJ. My live account made just over $100 today. Look at this chart from today:
GBPJPYM5.png
See those two vertical yellow lines? See the sharp spikes upwards? Remember this is an M5 chart, so those spikes would not even register on the M60.

What they did was clear out a whole load of accumulated buys. You cannot see them accumulating before the first yellow line; trust me - they accumulated. You can imagine how they accumulated before the second one.

Fact is, the spikes cleared them all out. This happens over and over and over again on GJ.

Ignore the results for today display - that is my indi and it does not show the results that made the dosh over the previous 24 hours. The loss will have been cause by rollover.

I have lost money trading RnR. I lost it when I invoked 'protective hedging'. Oh boy, but what a disaster that was. No sooner than the bot took a 'protective hedge' than the market instantly moved against it and a new hgi signal closed it at a mahoosive loss.

Treat 'protective hedging' with the sort of caution you would apply to nuclear waste. Try it on demo for six months until you know how to make it work for you, and the damage it can do when you fail to do so.

Treat whatever is coming from dydynamic with the same caution.

We have a proud history here at SHF, of fixing EA's until they finally break. I am not joining in this game here. I have disabled 'protective hedging' and instead opted for intelligent lot sizing - i.e. 0.01 lots for a minimum of $5,000 balance (preferably 10,000) and only trading GJ.

Up to you guys whether you take any further notice of me and my live trading. I shall not be involving myself in attempts to improve this ea, and will need hard evidence before I will alter the code.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

My special thanks to Thomas (tomele) for all the incredible work he does here.
