Here are the results until the restart.

Thanks ... this is helpful because it shows RnR as the demon rather than HGBnG.. on my account HGBnG had twice the draw down of RnR.tomele » Thu Jul 14, 2016 6:11 pm wrote:Correct.TraderJoeForex » 14 Jul 2016, 19:53 wrote: magic 0 is RnR

Your results would suggest that perhaps 0.1 lotsize for HGBnG vs 0.01 for RnR would make a peaceful marriage.
If I can just figure out a way to save us from the last Trend arrows as price is turning we might just have a golden goose this Christmas

I am testing this combination in background on more pairs, GJ also and I have changed CSS from begining to TF M30 ( tried M5 that produced too many false Trend arrows up to H1 which is maybe too slow for changes so sticking now with M30)
It does save us from false signals and if trend is really strong HGBnG takes trades as long as our currency is above 0 and other currency below 0 and slope is accelerating vs slowing in our favor.
Only thingis that I think our lot size on HGBnG should be higher then 2X then RnR. Will start experimenting with 4X or 5X .
So many variations and so many potentials think when we find right balance between them it will be golden goose.
One thing it crossed my mind was that would be great to have confirmation from CSS on two timeframes H1 && M5 and that will also eliminate false signals and get us earlier in trend with HGBnG.
BTW I am running HGBnG on M15 instead of M5 and working ok even in those hard trading conditions.
One more thing is that we can pick our pairs based on D1 CSS ( ranging pairs ) that suits RnR and if it become trending then HGBnG should jump in. Why do we have to be sticked to GJ if it is most trendy currency pair and that does not suit RnR which should be our main money maker.
Just my 2 cents,
Cheers !!!

With CSS I did test H1, H4 and D1 as filters alongside M5 last week. With my "last down arrow" signal at the start of this week ALL of the higher time frame CSS would have been in downtrend at the time.
The problem is that any filter we apply based on a higher time frame will still deliver a valid signal right before price turns. There is no solution to this in filtering but I am very interested in alternatives to my suggestion because what I have does not work as intended.
What I am thinking is back to Hedged Stop orders for HGBnG. It's not as profitable as stop and limit when price action behaves but it's a lot safer when it doesn't.
And perhaps a bigger ratio of lot size as you say like 5 x RnR.
Will run a few tests tomorrow and outline another plan for Monday. Please do shout any and all ideas out people. Collectively we can make the best plan of attack.

Plain brainstorming: We could try to balance the lotsizes between the two strategies based on a counter-martingale strategy. The more success one strategy has compared to the other, the more capital gets allocated to it at the expense of the other. As the results change, the allocation changes. This would help us to get rid of the need for indicators that tell us whether we are in a trend or in a range.TraderJoeForex » 14 Jul 2016, 22:54 wrote:
