Hardware issues on EA performance

Hello people,
I´ve noticed in the past that many EAs tend to react with a certain delay to their triggering conditions. For example, if a bar size of 200 pips is the trigger, the EA would fire a trade when the bar reaches a size of 400 or even more, or sometimes not fire any trade at all because a new bar opened and the current conditions changed (new small bar). This leads to the loss of opportunities and/or bad trades.

The question is what is the cause of such a delay in reacting to the platform´s data. I thought of four possible reasons, namely:

1. Bad internet connection (which in my case I ruled out)
2. EA coded in an inefficient manner so it takes it longer to detect the triggering conditions
3. Running other applications on the same PC that would slow it down.
4. Hardware limitations, such as an outdated PC processor, small RAM, etc.

The idea of this thread is to define the ideal hardware settings and other physical conditions for an EA to run as it should (or at least as close as possible to it).

I am running my Empty4 on a laptop with an i3 2.20 MHz processor with a 6 MB memory, running on Windows 7.
