Hi Rene

Day 1 with GridDancerv1.59 on (AUDUSD, GBPUSD, EURUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, USDJPY, GBPJPY) with GridMaster1.7 closing trades, all OOTB.

Very encouraging results (although I noted that all my SHF grid trading strategies performed well yesterday). :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Thank you for your time, effort and generosity. We all really appreciate it.

Kind regards Richard

Yes, for the first two weeks, the performance of this new combo was indeed encouraging. And then it got in a big drawdown ..., so we are not there yet. I am currently working together with other SHF members to prevent this from happening. For the time being, do NOT put this on a live account, however tempting, as you WILL get in trouble.

Absolutely. This is a DEMO account and I am waiting for the DD period to kick in to see how it copes. Will keep you posted

Cheers Richard

Rene one question. When do the GDs actually start to revise their line in the sand? This is how USDCHF looks like for me at this point.

If that fat orange horizontal line is the mark above which price has to climb over in order to start trading up then DD would indeed grow faster than we'd like to stomach.

If we were to make a sort of dynamic line-in-the-sand, things could brighten up a bit more (EDIT: Apologies I only realised later, after making the picture at the bottom that you of course have an adapting base line in place). An obvious contender for this are the green lines of the sixth indicator or possibly the daily open. Here's an example for USDCAD and USDCHF on M15 with BarCount = 288.

Here's a mechanism that might be interesting that I'd like to suggest:

Cheers,

Aram

EDIT:
Perhaps other similar mechanisms could prove to be better. E.g. every time price falls 3 sixths-levels, shift the line-in-the-sand 1 level down with it. Vice versa if price goes up.

In GridDancerv1.59 the line in the sand is drawn at the start of a new 'dancing sequence'. A new line in the sand is drawn, if EquityTP is hit and GridMaster sends a Rinse-n-Repeat message that instructs all the dancers to close all their trades and start from scratch with a new anchor line. The same can be achieved by hitting the Rinse-n-Repeat button on GridMaster.

Had a massive close today:

Completely out of the blue. Anyone experienced the same thing around 14:30 pm GMT+3 (Global Prime server time)? Computer or platform doesn't show any irregularities either :ugeek:

That is an EquityTP. GridMaster has noted down the equity as it was at 16-Aug 2:55, and after a rocky road, your equity just went past the equityStart + equityTP, on 18th August, between 10:00 and 15:00.

It may be sad to see that Balance line tumbling down, but it is important to understand that you don't 'own' that money. GridMaster did you a favour, by instructing all GridDancer's to Rinse-n-Repeat when the EquityTP was hit, as GridMaster is far more efficient in raking in profits on a relatively empty grid.

Can you make an option to reverse the direction of the trades on each side of the line so that it will sell above and buy below? I am going to set up 3 related pairs and make a triangle hedge to see if the drawdown can be decreased. Last week I tested version 1.54 and the drawdown was pretty low using 3 pairs, however this week I noticed most of the orders that were opened were sell orders so I'm looking for a way to prevent this from happening. Current balance is 1247 current equity is 1200.

Well I've been using the old version 1.54 and so far I've had a drawdown of over $100-150 trading 3 pairs at .01 lots so I may go live with around 2k but how do you think that the slippage would effect performance on a live account with this method? So what I'm thinkin is to continue to use 3 pairs .01 lot each pair for each 3k and make a target of $400 a month which is roughly 12% I'm guessing. If I can keep the dd under 200 I'm not sure because I've only been using a month so maybe I'll go 2 more months to see what the max dd is with these 3 pairs and re evaluate the risk at that point before moving forward. By the way the old statement was from the old account I couldn't find the login info so I made a new one with a 1k starting balance, so If I wouldn've had it continuous the account would be around 1500 by now. 10% target monthly is too high ? Maybe going 5% and doubling your account every year may be the secret weapon to long term success.. we will see. that would mean reducing the dd to under 6% based on my results so far.
