Hi Guys,

Just some ideas I have been working on....We look at currency strength being tested from 1 mins to 4 hours etc and sure our maddy dash board will give this to us, but by the time Ma's cross over on the longer time frames, price action is pretty much exhausted and call for a strong pull back before its intended direction...and most likely will just reverse anyway which has been causing losses this week. This will happen in ranging markets..In trending Markets a different story.

Rather than look at Maddy as an overall strength meter, look at it as a nucleus within one single time frame( definitely a reversed way from how I have been looking at Mad trader). I am still convinced that intra day crosses between the 60 Lwma set to open and 240 Lwma set to open is our intra day direction on the 5 minute time frame.

With Mad Trader, the Ea.....If we have a stochs or any other signal with Mad trader Ea from 5 mins up to 1 Day etc crossing over within that 5 min 60/240 crossover we have a definite signal. Same would go for Hgi, Ma Stack from 1 min up to daily...Of course all this will have different closing parameters ...Lots of trades but with diff parameters could see us through the lean and good times.

Anyway stay posted

Hi Guys,

Firstly congratulations, Rene for having your own sub forum. Just a wealth of invaluable contributions from you throughout the years :good: ...

I am currently watching Pipcruiser's thread http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =93&t=4860 with great interest and have also gone through the thread at forex factory..

As always Maddy dashboard is very adaptable and have made some modifications to suite Pipcruiser's method and the thread starter at forex factory..

Just imagine having price cross the 5 SMA at close - shift 3 on the daily time frame and you have a 4 hourly, 1 hourly or even daily HGI trend arrow and you are running this method. Can only be good :) At least should help with the draw down that could be experienced whilst trading daily time frames...

Nevertheless, for anyone wanting to try this out I have put together the Maddy indicator dashboard to test this method...
Maddy v 1.7 Dashboard Dynamite Daily 5 Sma.set
I have included 4 hour to 5 min t/frames just to help with market momentum and the here and now..

Hi Guys,

Going on 7 months now and I am still immersed in Maddy and Mad trader...simply believe it is the best multi pair trader out there :)

In my testings I have often gone on to more sophisticated settings and have always tried to make something more out of Maddy dash board which, really is not,,,

I often grapple with the fact that longer time frames give more powerful crossover signals and yeah it really does but not without big draw downs. The more we look at longer time frames the more we have to expect draw downs of 150 pips plus and even multiple losses where s/losses have been taken out. Simply not the way to go for me.

I always seem to come back to the 5 minute t/frame where intra day swings really happen. I often elude to the fact that the 60 and 240 linear weighted Ma's set to open is my intra day swing and yes it is or 50 and 200 Sma. It really does not matter but I firmly believe that these crosses are institutional levels and price reacts when these levels are breached, well more so then not. It can Happen that price crosses back and forth with 60 Lwma crossing back up over the 240 Lwma and down in a single day..these are the days that we simply have to take our losses and get out of that currency, Ranging can also be a subtle killer. better than taking big losses but sooner or later the cross will go into something big if we are patient.

Maddy dash Board is great if I look at the 5 minute 60/240 crosses that happen and it immediately gives me what is happening in the here and now so I either enter a trade manually if we are up on the daily time frame or I wait for Mad trader Ea to Kick in...

If I get a 4hr Hgi trend signal and my 5 minute 60 has crossed 240 Lwma all in the same direction it is a killer signal and I have rarely had losses on these and even daily Hgi trend signals :)

The point I am making is that if we try to include too many timeframes in the dashboard we are throwing away the impetus of the move and big moves are usually trend changing..So the direction I am steering into now is to rather let Maddy tell me where the price action is and let Mad trader Ea do the job for me. This is where the dynamics lie. Good combinations with a single time frame maddy dash board 60/240 setting thus will be 5 min stacking with an exit of 60 crossing back up or down the 240 ma.. 15 min, 60 min 4 hour and daily Hgi will be good settings to go with the 5 min maddy dashboard and crosses in the opposite direction for and exit signal coupled with Hgi trend signal in the opposite direction for exits.

Anyway guys I am not going to post any settings just yet I would rather prove this with good results,,It has been a real head scratcher but I believe I am moving in the right direction..

Hi Guys,

Just thought I would say hello....don't want to let this thread fall into the abyss :)

Promising stuff with my new settings......Today has been absolutely boring...month end stuff coming up and currencies making their way towards monthly pivots, indicative of a slow month...tomorrow could see some sparks.

Nevertheless I am still around and look at all the threads daily.

I am here as well!
This summer I have focused on a more generic EA dashboard that can include the strategies you look at and much more.
I think it has been hard to evaluate proper settings as it is summertime and not the normal activity in the market.
I will come back as soon as I have a longterm strategy that works.

Agree 100 % Mathias, you hit it on the nail....Looking forward to your longterm strat. I also have something in mind which I would like to share at some point as a token of gratitude and a culmination of years of following SHF.... ;) would probably open my own thread for that....

Nevertheless...
Between now and tomorrow month end could see some volatile moves and currencies making their way towards monthly pivots...

Take Care

Cheers

Now I got curious! I am interested in what you will share.
Looking forward to that.
I got some very interesting results so far this week, but it is based on my own EA.
More on that later.

That would be awesome, Leon. You are the MADTrader expert and pioneer, so we can all learn from you how to actually use this thing.

No pressure whatsoever, take your time.
