Sorry my post wasn't very clear. The non-lag ma may closely mimic CSS when both indicators are set to the same timeframe as the chart. However, the power of CSS is really seen when you have CSS set to a higher timeframe (e.g. D1) that the chart (e.g. H4), using auto TimeFrame set to false. When you do that then the non-lag ma indicator doesn't mimic CSS. This is because the non-lag ma doesn't have the capability to work in a timeframe different from the chart.

Daily timeframe looks interesting.
I have MPTM set the trades to BE@1*ADR, but can't make it jump the stops.

Most of the closures are due to SL, some I closed and reversed when a cross happened against the open trade.

I was going to wait until the weekend before commenting but will weigh in now in light of your post, Gertje.

Early days, but I am loving the D1:

• All the usual FX pairs.
• Check each one at the open of the new candle at 22.00 London time. Takes 5 minutes.
• Close losers (well, one loser so far) on a confirmed re-cross.
• Take a new trade following a confirmed cross.

All I have to do is look at the bar colours. The previous bar having changed = a trade open or trade closure.

Starting balance $10,000. Lot sizes 0.1 Current balance $9954 - that loser last night. 12 open trades; equity $10,352 at the time of writing.

I probably will not wait for a recross to close a successful trade. I notice on the charts that the 'jaws' can widen a lot during a decent move, so I might close the trade when the currencies start to slow down. Maybe wait until Friday then shut down the lot. Not decided yet.

Definitely the simplest trading method yet devised Bob.

This is what I have been playing around with. Got 57 pips off the AJ sell on Sept 6, but with tiny lots (still testing). I didn't catch the earlier AJ Buy on Sept 6.

Chart = 30M
CSS = H4
HalfTrend indicator with Amplitude = 2

Like the rest of you, trying to keep it very simple.

Here you go. Play around with the amplitude setting. I use 2 for lower timeframes (30M/H1). For the higher timeframes (H4 and above) you can also try it at 1.
