Gertje do you have the EA set up to trade specific pairs in certain markets or are you trading all pairs in all markets for analysis purposes?

I set the EA to trade the London period with Joe's set file and so far no trades.. Nothing lining up at the moment..
All pairs, all markets. M15 only.

21 trades open at the moment.
Nearly 120 trades/ 12 full lots closed already today.... :shock:

I am thinking of doing the same starting Monday with one EA closing trades on the M15 reversal and another EA on another account closing on a Basket TP for contrasting and comparison purposes.

Account got hammered during the night, but made up for it this morning....
I will let it run and try to extract a good trading window from it.

Hi Gertje

So you are not using the 1H and 4H as filters. Only trading 15M crosses?

Thanks

Yes I only had one trade since 00:00 with M15, H1 and H4 but then I realised the fields are not showing what I would expect on the dashboard.

Using GJ as an example. Right now we have M15 blue H1 blue and H4 red. When H4 turns blue I want to wait for an M15 candle to close and then as long as M15 H1 and H4 are all still blue I want to enter long.

As it is right now I think the EA will only enter when there is a cross during the last candle on each timeframe. So it would wait for H1 and M15 to go red then blue again before entering once H4 has turned blue. But that means it will miss the first move that I want to catch.

Perhaps just using one timeframe and working out the best trading times as Gertje is doing is the best move for now or perhaps just two timeframes. H1 and H4 could be a good shout as you were discussing before I jumped in yesterday. Right now there won't be that many opportunities that line up across 3 timeframes where all have crossed on the last bar.

I think I have understood this correctly but just waiting to see what Mathias comes back with and will post again to clarify or correct further.

Ah ha, that would explain a great deal, for sure I think that a change on the trigger time frame whilst lining up with the upper time frames is the way to go..

Hi

So how about changing it like this:
15M -> Use CSS cross (like the current setting)
1H -> Use CSSDiff
4H -> Use CSSDiff

So the direction on 4h and 1h need to line up and then we want to trade the momentum when the 15m crosses.

Yes please try this and let us know if it trades as expected. If anyone wants my template to watch visually it's here and could add the CSSDiff from Baluda to watch that.

Here's what I propose about ££ contributions since it's so nice quite a few of us offered to chip in so quickly which is great.

Once this is nailed and working we could pool from everybody willing to chip in and split 3 ways.. Mathias for willingness to jump in and modify his dashboard to suit this project, Bob's chosen charity Compassion on behalf of Bob and Baluda without whom we would not have this indicator and Steve as a thank you for this space for us to share.

I will have to ask Steve but perhaps he'd be willing for us to all just chip in directly to him and we can trust him then to split the 3 ways.
Hi, I am in. You can count on me.

Cheers,
Krzysztof
