Thanks will give it a whirl!

Can you help me out, could you explain the difference between Diff & Delta in this context. I have read what I could find in the manual but can't quite understand it.

Cheers

Alan
Diff is the size of the difference between the Currency Slope Strengths for each currency in the pair so the way I use it, simply positive (blue) or negative (red). Whereas Delta is their direction.

For example following a CSS line cross lets say that makes the Diff positive (blue).. as price retraces from the new trend the Diff is still positive but the Delta turns negative. If Diff and Delta are both positive then the strength is positive and accelerating.

With my manual template in this screenshot I can see that M15 H1 and H4 diff would be positive ( as the SS are all crossed the 0 line and simply show as blue) and D1 CSS delta is also positive as GBP has moved up away from JPY at the close of the last candle. We can also see the D1 CSS is still ranging from the SS value of 1.13 so the sharp move up today is still within the daily range.

That's what makes these CSS indicators so powerfu l .. there is so much information that can be derived and with Bob and Baluda's recent work we can display them any which way on our chart and thanks to Mathias also in his EA.

  • Consult the charts about 10 minutes into the new D1 candle.
  • Buy when MN1 and W1 are green and D1 crosses from red to green.
  • Sell when MN1 and W1 are red and D1 crosses from green to red.
  • Send a pending grid with the market trade.
  • Close profitable positions when the D1 closes the wrong colour.
  • Give losing positions time to breathe and for the pair to recross. Close them if the W1 turns the wrong colour.
  • Count the pips.

The template will set up the chart if anyone else wants to try this. There is a bunch of scripts to do the leg work at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 98#p146498

Hello Steve,
In case "Buy when MN1 and W1 are green and D1 crosses from red to green." and so there is a buy condition:
"Send a pending grid with the market trade": am I correct that you send the "Market buy plus full stop grid script"?
Best regards,
Ludo

Nearly. I only send a buy stop grid.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Steve, Going to give this a try as I love once a day systems. Do you have a script that closes the profitable positions? I looked in the Scripts forum but found nothing.
Thanks Bob

I know I'm old and not quite blind but I've looked in the 'Some trading aids' thread and can't find anything there except for 'Trading scripts.zip'. I have that already and I've gone thru it and can't find anything that will close only profitable trades.

Pretty cool confirmation steps. What I did in my template earlier was:

1. 1-60M Charts having CSS applied twice:
1 x Daily
1 x 4H

2. When I move to 4H and higher TFs CSS configured:
1 x Daily
1 x Weekly

This way I can make an analysis and Long Term confirmation from pretty much any TF I am located in.

So for example, I am in 30M TF and I see 4H and Daily agree? I go to 4H TF I see Daily and Weekly Agree? I go back to 30M/1H for micro analaysis to enter at the better spot, maybe some pull back entry etc... and the I catch the pips on the long term trend since my overall analysis confirmed by both daily and weekly in addition to the 4H confirmation I've.
