When trading, you have got to factor in a lot of things. This is my basic feed...Currency strength, run for the day, upcoming news, breaking news. It is not that I look at it all the time, but when I do not understand stg, I do look for clues and I am always aware of any major news that could screw up my day. Also, you should master the relationship of news and PA. Price reacts to news and there is always a run-up that could last for a day or even a week.
When I say ADR, I do not just mean it. I mean it in relation with the London closing time. Learn about it, it will greatly improve your trading. Not to forget about the thousands of hours staring at the screen.. the more associations you can think about the better your results will be.

That wasn't major news that moved USDJPY, and it moved upwards on negative news, opposite of what it "normally" would do, just as it's done in the past.......
It's nothing new and it's all been covered in the thread before.

A man is not defeated when he is beaten, he is defeated when he quits.
The goal is not a "perfect trade" - the goal is a "profitable trade"!
If you 'slip' your USD/JPy charts down to link the last Friday candle with the Sunday gap, the new PH made today sits inside the previous PH. I have noticed this several times when using fibs, reversals not on a particular fib number will align perfectly if you 'remove' the gap.

Apologies for the confusion, I reacted to mti's comment with no reference to today's move. I have no idea what moved the UJ pair today, although I think that the interest rate issue gives a lot of room to the price movers.

I thought that descend down. : : :
There are so many posts on this, I posted a pattern and a level count myself. Yes, I could have been wrong all the way but I am not suprised, I was long and closed my last position at 104.36 today because it has hit the 5D ADR line. I do not know what next is. Need to look into it, I am busy with other trades.
well then please show me the pattern usdjpy
but please correct if you know what I'm talking

Just flip back few pages, CJ commented on them too. But factor in today's moves too. Also, I do not know where it goes from now on. Consider to sleep on it and see what the Asian session does with today's move. You may find the answer tomorrow morning if you happen to be in Europe.
