CSS WITH HGI & SUPER CSS

Post by DerPat »

I never really understood CSS until Nanningbob startet to explain it here in his weekly outlook. As I am trading from the daily chart, I am still in the exploration phase of how to read CSS the best. As of now, I don't feel like that the weekly CSS is for any good. For trading the daily chart, I am using the daily CSS as of now but in a slightly different way than Nanningbob. I've created a profile in Empty4 which contains all currency strengths in separate chart windows and try to apply the same rules of trendlines, support- and resistance levels, as I know from price charts. (Ignore the dots on the picture below, it is just because the scale gets confused when there is only one currency on the chart). I will give a currency a +1 for uptrending, 0 for non-trending / may go sideways and -1 for downtrending.

My opinion for the week ahead (top left to bottom right):
AUD 0: Remaining strong, but on a potential reversal level.
JPY -1: Crossed the downtrend level, potentially break through of the trendline.
EUR -1: Broke last week out of it's sideway direction and can potentially break lower.
GBP 0: Could find a bottom, but there are no green clouds ahead for this currency.
CAD +1: Trending north like nothing, let's see how long it can continue like this.
USD +1: looks like a solid uptrend.
NZD 0: Is going sideways and could reverse upwards from it's current level.
CHF 0: No direction, could break lower.
Crossings ahead:
AUDUSD, with USD getting stronger than AUD
NZDJPY, with NZD going sideways and JPY weakening.

Would be great if one of the more experienced traders could comment on that.

Tuesday Update:
(from left top to bottom right)

NZD +1: shows now clearly where it wants to be (up)
EUR -1: continues to fall
AUD 0: respects resistance could get lower, but is still in the uptrend area
GBP 0: sits still at its support and does not move
JPY -1: broke through support and has now more downside potential
USD +1: outlook remains bullish, took a rest (entry points?)
CHF -1: started its way to the bottom of the upwards channel
CAD +1: marching forward to its resistance level (getting there soon)

Again, I really would appreciate if one of the more experienced traders could comment on this,a s I do not know if I am on the right track.

Update for Wednsday:
GBP 0: still remains relatively flat on support in oversold area
EUR -1: continuation, can find support at the end of the week
NZD +1: now boldly said goodbye to it's recent support and is on it's way up.
USD +1: continuation, reaching soon resistance
CHF -1: continuation
AUD 0: is bouncing of resistance, bearish momentum could emerge
CAD +1: continuation, reaching soon resistance
JPY -1: broke yesterday throught trendline and continues it's march to prior period lows

Crossings:
AUD is trying to cross down USD and CAD.
NZD has crossed EUR and JPY and will cross CHF probably soon.

Hottest for me are:
As NZD is the only +1 with room until it reaches resistance, I will screen NZDJPY, NZDCHF and NZDEUR for long price action signals. I will will also have a look at AUDUSD, as it is currently at a nice spot and it created already price action signals.

If no one is interested until the end of the week, I will continue my research privately.

Hi DerPat,

A very interesting approach. Correct me if I am wrong, anyone.

I dont think Css has been approached in this way yet.

Please continue with your research. I am following :good:

ALL research is valuable...so keep going DerPat..it'll soon be Friday's COB. Only one small comment which is a week researching anything will probably not be enough, except 2 doing it halves the time perhaps. I'll try to comment Sunday pm.

Hey, thank you for your feedback, really appreciate.

current opinion:
USD +1: is weakening, but still has room to the upside
EUR -1: continuation
NZD +1: will soon be at a trendline resistance
GBP 0: remains flat at support
AUD 0/-1: could be nice for entries if resistance holds
CAD 0: weakens at a minor resistance
JPY -1: still has room to the downside
CHF -1: continuation

Crossing:
>> AUD could cross USD and CAD down. Feels like that USD is stronger than CAD, so will look for entries on AUD/USD Short on the daily chart.
>> NZD/CHF are crossing bullish, but their individual lines could meet soon resistance and support, so I see not enough room for longer holding periods.

Technical question:
Is it possible to create a CSS with candle sticks (OHLC)? I am not familiar with MQL4 programming, should learn it somewhen, would be nice for this research.
Should I move my research to a different threat? I don't want to pollute Nanningbob's great work here.

Feel like that the simplicity of +1/0 and -1 can lead to false decision, as I found good entries at pairs where we have clear consolidation at one pair, trend on another pair and price action signals on the charts of the pair. See AUD/USD yesterday and GBP/CAD the day before yesterday.

Today's opinion:
AUD: Respecting it's resistance and crossed USD down
CHF: Could find a bottom soon
NZD: Still uptrending, could find resistance today or on monday.
CAD: Is reversing or correcting before it meets a resistance, we do not know
JPY: Makes good use of it's support
EUR: All week long, getting weaker and weaker, could find support today or on monday
GBP: Makes good use of it's support

Crossing: AUD/USD

Highlights:
AUD is consolidating for quit some time in the overbought area, this could mean a reversal with good R for entries.
JPY and GBP could be a the same on the other side of the lines.

Anyway, it is Friday and not the best day for entries.

Good going :good:

Is it possible to post some trade entries with your analysis,if and when you get a signal?

Have a nice weekend.
