ok i get that. what i'm finding is if hibernation is not on, then trades are opened regardless of the trading time inputs, ie even if its outside of the hours specified.

can someone give advice on the hibernation feature? it doesn't seem to awaken from its slumber even when the trading time is set to specifics. the only way i can currently get this to trade is leaving hibernatuion off and it trading 24/5

any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks, running laatest version on a global prime demo

Hibernation on/off is a manual feature, not automated. If hibernation is on, then no new trades are opened but existing open trades are managed.
I've found the timing feature to work fine, as long as the settings are entered correctly.

Ok, apologies if I misunderstood. I haven't experienced that, the trading timer appears to be working fine for me. With a setting of +8.05,-18.00 I can watch it wait until 08.05 before it opens a trade and then not open any more trades after 6pm.

Those last weeks were really long weeks, I am finishing/polishing a few things in my latest project and should be back to normal activity later today.

This week-end I will read the last pages of the thread and check if we have new interesting ideas to improve this DB.

I can note that some of you have really good results, (congrats Leon).

I suggest that we make Leon's settings OOTB settings.

On the weekly set. Do you still set a 50 pip stop loss on each pair? or just the basket stop loss that you mention?

Hi Jim, I am going with the -1% basket s/loss for now with the weekly set... must also be said that I have a 50 pip s/loss on every trade opened via my Mptm Ea..the weekly set is still dicey for me so I do close the basket manually when 100 pips or so is achieved. We get many signals in a day on the weekly set and I find it best served going into London open and New York activating the Ea...the notion I had of getting this set into a weekly trade and carrying on into the week has been dashed more than once so in essence it is becoming more a daily trade for me. A quick in and out...

Hi Forextraderaz,

Yes, I use the 50 pip s/loss religiously on all trades with the monthly and weekly sets. I find it better to take the knock quickly and move on.

You can also use the s/loss built into the Ea, but I have found that some trades end up without a stop loss. Not sure if this has to do with the hibernation feature. Nevetheless, a quick way to overcome this was to have Mptm set at 50 pips.

I am using one of the older more basic Mptm versions .....quick and lite on resources. I suppose it is also because I am using a very basic management control here so it is fine for my setup.

Very important to me: I have done away with the "close individual trades when Css cross +- threshold" I found that there were too many pre-mature closures and slowly draining equity. This becomes more obvious when you use smaller t/frame sets. Because I am more focused on basket take profits this would make more sense. It should be a better feature to use with my monthly set, as signals are more stable...will play around with this.

I keep getting the CSSiCustom.ex4 error: the DB loads and displays empty values.
I went through the whole thread, tried every version, put the iCustom.ex4 in the indicator folder and checked every possible setting, installed it on a fresh Empty4, no avail.
Meanwhile I see other members cheering at all these green pips and that is very frustrating.
Any ideas what else I should try/check ??

Welcome back!

Regarding additional features, I had had one other thought as an extention to the 'disabling' of certain pairs, being a means to control Buy or Sell trades per pair.
I tend to keep an eye on the relative strength of all 8 pairs together (using 10.7 CSSv3.8ps_with AlertsCross for example) as well as just on a pair basis on the Dashboard. For example, recently, longer term trends may have suggested that buying GBP (against anything) wasn't a great idea and I would have looked for Sell GBP trades only. Short term rallies are always possible/tradable of course but probability is with GBP longer term weakness.
In practice, maybe a buy and sell button per currency pair would support this, for example GBP:

Buy button enabled - allow Buy GBP on this pair
Sell button enabled - allow Sell GBP on this pair
No button enabled - disable trading this pair

Of course, it could be configurable as to whether it is displayed on the DB, just to keep it clean and simple for those that don't want this.
