Hi Asmahan,

Could you tell us which version you are using and share your set file please?
I unfortunately have some bad experience with RnR. At the beginning it was doing good, but during GBP fall lately I lost 75 % of my live account

Both my live and demo accounts are doing fine. In fact, my live account survive both the Brexit and this US election with extra gains.

Not sure this is pure luck or not. I think the key to trade RnR is to make sure you have enough margin to survive the DD, one must not over-trade. In my live account, the max drawdown is 39% trading 4 pairs. So far, it always come back and make extra gains on the way.

Same for me: My live-account survived all major moves and the bigger the move....the more profit along the way.

You just need to have enough money in the account to survive the drawdown. And if you don't feel save...Either:
- stop trading days in advance
- make the pips between trades bigger
- temporarily hedge the position..just before impact-news
- or lower the lotsize (if possible)

And enjoy the pips afterwards

It's great to hear that all of you survived the turbulence of these dramatic political turmoil and even collected PIPS

Are you guys using EXPv1F or the other one??

For me today I was introduced to the "leaky toilet" I had partial stop @ 50%

the demo account of course kept collapsing till reaching 60% draw-down , the funny thing I noticed is the lot size of GBPJPY chart has doubled causing extra draw-down .. should have immediately fixed it at that time but I preferred to watch it play out.

Early in the day I cancelled one chart of GBPAUD and increased the step between trades to 10 instead of 5 still the GBPJPY trend was very strong.

I do not have a set file ( I use EXPv1F), but I like to interact with market and news as things progress .... lesson learned not to push RnR with bigger lot sizes or additional pairs as mentioned in post 1.

What happened today will not deter me from going live soon but since the account size dedicated to this will not be big , I will research a quiet pair that don't "leak" that much

Hi Asmahan,

As long as you understand the risks of overleveraging and underfunding your account...then you're not gambling.

the same happened to me. My live account survived as I took no risks and acted as a wise Forex-veteran.
Although on my demo-account overleveraged as always

I experienced the leaky toilet.

By the way...using the old RnR not the experimental one.

As I mentioned in my first post RNR closed -2700$ (all open trades) at one time with no discernible reason.
This happened yesterday too on a different account.

At 2:32 the platform reconnected after a brief disconnect and according to the log nothing happened until 3:38 but all trades were closed at 3:35. I was asleep at the time and only I have access to the VPS so no manual closure. Logfile attached.
Apparently it's just me but I don't know how or why.

Does anyone have any idea why this happens?

Hi nundu,

in the logfile is nothing mentioned about a close of the positions. Therefore I assume the positions were not closed through this terminal. I wondering if you have connected this account to another instance with an another EA or any kind of "account protection" enabled on the broker end which automatically closes all trade at a specific draw down level.

Thank you for the reply deadman,

On the account I have 3 EA-RNR,myfxbook update and an ea that I added yesterday that sends a pending order every 5 minutes and deletes it(so i can see if the platform worked in the logs). And the account is not connected to others via any way.
Similarly I do not know of such protection even if my broker (ic markets) offers it. I do not think that is the case as I have accounts with much higher DD than this that haven't closed deals like that. Also this very same account has had higher dd than the 10% it closed.
