Hello René,
A question regarding your latest update.
I was running GM 1.8 with BasketProfit=5, but from your comments on this post:
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 30#p149142
I understand that this function was not working correctly in 1.8.
My demos are working beautifully as per my last post:
https://www.myfxbook.com/members/acosta ... -1/1853941
https://www.myfxbook.com/members/acosta ... -1/1853942
https://www.myfxbook.com/members/acosta ... -2/1853943
So my question is: Should I just keep them on 1.8? Im afraid to replace to 1.83 because even though the function BasketProfit was not wrking properly, this are still very good results and I don't want to "mess with something that's not broken" if you know what I mean
Do you think it'll make much of a difference? What would you reccomend me to do?
Ideally I would try ALL the settings, but as you understand demo space is limited and I need to make decisions.
Diego

Ultimately, it is of course your choice whether to go with 1.81 or 1.8. What I said was that due to a bug in 1.8, baskets of trades were not closed if they reached the set BasketProfit. The EquityTP and EquitySL were still working, and also the hedged tuples were closed. The only difference between 1.8 and 1.81 is the fix of the BasketProfit-bug.acostafulano » Wed Nov 16, 2016 11:06 am wrote: So my question is: Should I just keep them on 1.8? My demo with 1.81 and the HGIDancers is doing extremely well with currently a 9.3% gain and a max drawdown of 2.2%. This is since Thursday last week.

Hi Rene,
Thank you for this wonderful tool.
I started a new demo with the lastest versions, it doing good since monday with a negligable DD.
However, eventhough EU, GJ, GU, UC and UCHF are loaded only EU is taking trades. EA seems to be working at all charts, there is no error messages and there are proper HGI signal but no trade.
Maybe I miss something,
Best,
Ahmet

Good results so far with low DD and consistent equity growth. Will report back with some results next week.
Will also test on live account after next week - aiming for low DD as focus. Ultimately looking for 5% return per month with an initial max allowable DD of around 3%. Since profits will be retained and compounded I will look to increase the DD risk by 1% for every 10% increase in the account up to a maximum of 6% SL (ie 6% of the account risk at this point is the equivalent of ~1/4 of the profits at risk when the account has grown by 30%). If DD is hit take it back to a max DD starting point of 3% again and go from there. Managing this using EquitySL.

This is odd. Have you loaded the history data of all pairs you are trading? You should get trades on all pairs, unless (1) there is no HGI-signal in the last HGILookBack candles for a pair or (2) a new trade for a pair would exceed the MaxCurrencyExposure.olric2000 » Wed Nov 16, 2016 8:58 pm wrote: However, eventhough EU, GJ, GU, UC and UCHF are loaded only EU is taking trades.

Yes indeed this is odd, and I did not see this before with Grid dancers.
I again loaded historical data by forceloadhistory, it seems there is no problem with that.
There are very few trades, no margin problem and as you can see in the picture there are plenty of trend and rad signals but it takes no trades

As discussed via PM, this was due to the MaxSpreadPips setting of 2.0. On olric2000's br0ker most pairs exceed this limit, so the dancer's won't bother opening a trade.olric2000 » Thu Nov 17, 2016 4:29 pm wrote:There are very few trades, no margin problem and as you can see in the picture there are plenty of trend and rad signals but it takes no trades

My 2 cents, I'm using Max Spread 3.5 on 24 Pairs in Global Prime, using ATR Grid of 0.20, and the bot is being profitable with various settings of MinProfit/EquityTP/EquitySL

Hi renexxx, Thanks for the explanation. The default settings for the currency exposure is 0.2 and that is for 0.05 lots you are using.
So for 0.01 lot size is 0.04 0r 0.05 is a better approach according to you?
Same logic applies for the Min. profit and other profit parameters.

MaxCurrencyExposure relates to open trades. The way it is calculated is explained in this thread. If, eg. the Currency Exposure of USD is currently +0.20, and MaxCurrencyExposure has been set to 0.20, it won't open another "BUY 0.05 lots of USDCAD" trade, as that would bring the Currency Exposure for USD to +0.25. However, it can open a "BUY 0.05 lots of GBPUSD" trade, as this would reduce the Currency Exposure for USD to +0.15.
Hope this explains it all.
