Shelley's multi-pair basket trader

Is it recommended to trade both Sydney and Tokyo, or is it better to just trade one of them (Tokyo) since they are very close together?

Thunder, I don't think anybody knows yet. The backtests I'm working on may clarify that.

Do not attempt to clutter up this thread with posts about market open times. I will not tolerate them.

Ignore my post about the basket opening and the immediately closing. One of my basket close inputs was wrong.

Just because I code something, doesn't mean I know how to use the damn thing.

If you are using FXCM UK, you will receive an error 132 with Shelley (or any other EAs). Here is the message I received from them:

FXCM - Empty4 is currently experiencing technical issues with both its web and software platforms. We are working on addressing the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check fxstatus.com for updates on the issue. That link will provide you information on how to proceed if you're negatively affected


Also, I see that phover is here! For those who don't know him, phover is the God of Dashboards. He worked on NB 5.x 2 years ago and I still use his panel. Welcome back phover!!! I am sure you read all about NB 10.2.

Also, I fired up Shelley on D1 and H4. Already in profit. I'll post my Asian session results here.

Here are my results for the Asian session. Not bad for a Sunday night.
Everything OOTB
H4 made $80 and D1 made $35. All this within an hour.

?? The chart TF should make NO difference, just like the chart symbol doesn't. Shelley runs an infinite loop, looking at conditions twice a second. There is no reason to run the same parameters on two different TFs -- it should enter and exit at the same time regardless of the chart timeframe.

Were you running them both on the same Empty4? Did you set different Magic Numbers on the two EAs? If you ran them totally OOTB, with the same MagicNumber, they might have stepped on top of each other. H4 might have opened up A, B, and C, then the D1 chart also opened up A, B, and C, and when the basket hit its TP, H4 might have closed its A/B/C *and* D1's A, or something like that?

Bottom line: it makes sense to run multiple Shelleys with different parameters -- different BasketOpen time, maybe different SL/TP/etc -- but not different TFs. If you run more than one on the same Empty4, set different MagicNumbers on them.

You are right, It can be misleading the way I phased my previous post. What I meant is that I use different TF for the SlopeTimeFrame. One at 1440 and the other one at 240. Sorry for the confusion.
The tests were running on different computers using different demo accounts.
