Hi Matt,

THis should give you a better idea of how im tackling it. I am running HGBnDotty on all currency pairs. And through a process of elimination will weed out the bad performing pairs. You can already see that Gbpnzd is a loser. It is stil too early to tell however. I need to do a lot more testing. I need to be realistic in terms of my real equity in order for me to take this live eventually. If I look at the rate of trades opening thus far I can say that I can handle about 5 to10 currency pairs. Once again too early to tell ..

Just to add on,

The way I tackle any ea that I feel has potential is simply by hard yards covered nothing smart about that, in this instance was over a couple of months on GBPJPY.

I feed in many combinations and had up to 10 different combinations running on this pair with HGBnDotty and the settings posted giving me the best results...Just a tip for anyone wanting to contribute positively on SHF

This is only part of the process. Now I am running it on all different currency pairs. There is a long way to go still.

You will have days of drawdown and you will have to intervene manually at some point.

I was using Steve H1 presets.

Here is my demo result started from 26 Sept. 2016 till todate. It suffers losses during US election. The account equity dropped from 38K (10K starting capital) down to approx. 18K due to GP leverage dropped from 400:1 to 100:1. The account recovered nicely and you can see the result here:

Keep in mind that on demo 400:1 is possible on GP. On a live account you get 100:1 as a standard and a maximum of 200:1 after some emails and questions...that is max on GP on a live-account.

V 2g is in post 1. It attempts to fix the problems with closing and offsetting the full hedge trades.

It also attempts to close opposite direction trades when there is a trade signal or change of trend. The user inputs were in place, but not actually implemented.

There is new code in all this, so if like me you have 2f chinkling happily away on you live cash accounts then do not replace it with 2g just yet.

I sent Thomas the updated version along with this explanation:

Can you have a look over the changes I have made if you have a few minutes to spare, please, and see if you can spot anything glaringly wrong:

• 194 declares arrays to hold full hedge trades tickets, in case of multiple full hedges being created. The arrays are resized and populated as usual in CountOpenTrades().
• 3804 starts the code block that looks for opportunities to call the functions that closes full hedge trades and then offsets the losers on the other side of the hedge i,e, LookForHedgeTradeClosure(int ticket) and CloseOppositeDirectionLosers(int type). I had to expand the code to deal with multiple full hedge trades. I have moved this code outside of the main loop in CountOpenTrades().
• 2746 opens LookForHedgeTradeClosure(int ticket). Not sure if I made any changes here - do not recall any.
• 2830 opens CloseOppositeDirectionLosers(int type). I realised it was not enough to merely replace 'break' with 'continue' but I think my comment makes my intentions clear.
• 5336 opens the code block at the bottom of ShouldTradesBeClosed(), that tries to close/delete open buy/buystop trades following a sell signal or change of trend to short - vice versa for a buy signal or change of trend to long. This a completely new code, so there are plenty of opportunities for bloops. I am not sure whether this code is in the right place, as 7299 prevents ShouldTradesBeClosed() being called in a fully hedged position.

I noticed that there is a statistic which shows how many BUYlots and SELLlots are open when we are in a full hedged position. It would be very useful if this would also be shown when we are in a normal hedge. I have a lot of orders open and sometimes try to "help" the bot manually but need to count the lots on both sides. This would help a lot to have a quick overview.
