HGI for beginners.

So then after having a good look at this indicator etc. I've read the pdf threads given it a go on the charts.

The question is

do you leave the indicator running on the chart

do you periodically update the chart

This is your choice, both practices are used and can make sense, best is to try it in forward trading on demo for a time with both methods...

demo ? that's ok mate. I'm just looking at it as a guide I have extensive knowledge of charts.

so what's the consensus because that hasn't been discussed as far as I can make out?

It's built for 4hr charts lesser charts and this would obviously get you in a mess

this is individual like all trading styles, there is not only one way.. Every one has to find out how to integrate HGI in his/her trading style, or that it is not compatibel to the own trading style..

Ive read this thread from pillar to post twice some really interesting stuff thats for sure.

Ive been trying the HGi and the matrix for a week or so, ive found on the 30 min ive lost quite a few trades, much more succesful with the 4 hourly charts, just not as many alerts or i miss them

Would the hourly charts be best to use? or maybe even the 4hr and 1hr?

Thia is up to your experience to decide, as there is no general rule, but HGI is primary con concepted for H4 tf.
And never forget often less trades give better results as impatient overtrading!

Someone once told me, concentrate on less trades and you become more successful.... Suppose there is some truth to that theory then. I may setup the matrix just to 4 hour alerts only then and give that a run

you can exclude certain alerts ( no-trend, yellow wave, rand ecc.) but combination of signal alerts are not available. So the answer to your question is NO.

Well today has been excellent!

Been using the matrix along with my charts.

You can tell the liquidity is back in the market. Been taking signals on the 60 min charts. Just aiming for 20 pips and it has hit perfectly every time.

Yes i know i could let it run, perfectly happy with 20 pips at a time to build my account.

Officially love the HGI!
