HGI for beginners.

do we need to run Empty4 all the time.? i only trade following the big arrow and i trade manually so does the big trend arrow change all the time like small arrow or waves.? or it's permanently show up on the chart after it appears.? bob said on his pdf guide "However, if you don’t change the time frame or turn the Empty4 on and off the symbol will stay. Milanese programmed the indi to keep any symbols on the screen that it shows. Sometimes you will get a pic like this" but it only show waves examples not big trend arrow. thank you

Ive found, that if you leave the charts running, dont change the timeframe, or reload your template and indicator the symbols will stay on.

I only trade the big arrows too now

ah okay that's why USD/CHF sell trend not showing yesterday i was changing to day timeframe and didn't load the HGI template again.gonna leave my PC running for a week for testing and considering renting cheap VPS then haha thanks

thats why back testing wont work unless you have left your charts running, as the indicator will need to calculate everything again

How would i go about using a vps?

Would that mean i can turn my pc off at night etc?

yeap after you pay them you got IP address and password. and then you go to your computer and use "remote desktop connection".so you basically renting other computer which run 99% of the time and controlling it with your computer. and yes you can turn off your computer and let Empty4 in your rented server running all the time.mostly people who use EA robot use it. and has low ping too here for tutorial [youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnAji0JQ04I[/youtube]

mostly people who use EA robot use it.

I am one of those, and it is a comfort knowing I am not subject to the vagaries of power interruptions and random computer restarts.

i never used VPS before. but the lowest server spec should be enough right.? haha i'm a cheap bastard

hey mate i noticed that if big trend arrow show up you must wait for Candlestick fully closed first. for the example if the big sell trend arrow show up and the candlestick somehow become bullish candle the arrow will disappear if you change the time frame but if it's still forming and going to the sell direction it will stayed there even if you change the time frame.

my advise is you should wait for candlestick fully closed first as a confirmation

Yes it is, so long as you do not want to do a lot. I run two live accounts from my Beeks VPS and could probably run two or three more. All my demos and EA development platforms run on my pc.

There are some brilliant tips for cutting down the cpu use on a VPS at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =10&t=4726. Running more than 1 platform would be impossible without implementing them.
