Shelley's multi-pair basket trader

We will have losers days, this is unavoidable. You can stop trading at bank holidays, at Christmas, on Mondays, NFP, G8..........you can always have a reason for not trading, and then, when everything seems to be perfect for trading, you lose.
It´s impossible to have the same trending weeks always.......

Time will tell if Shelley is enough profitable in trending days vs ranging/retracement days

If I may suggest.
Jemook started a special thread for NB 10.2 where we can discuss all our individual approaches to trading and related thoughts.
Sorry if it may sound impolite but I think it would be better to use this thread purely for developing Shelley, finding and fixing bugs, etc. It's getting difficult to keep the development stages when there are lots of unrelated messages.
Let's post our trading results in *10.2 Trades! Post up your trades here.* for it was created.

Gary, I think this solves your thingy.

I wish it was that simple!

Shelley 1t and Simple Shelley 1t both had that same WOH calculation line, but only SS showed the mystery error.
Most mysterious, somehow the WOH result in TradePair[cc][2] spontaneously changed from when it was set (and I printed the value) in the loop, to when I printed it again immediately after the loop. I can't see any way for that to happen.

To all Shelley basket players,

I suggest you only open Asian pairs during Asia market as other London and NY pairs like EU, GU,UC,UCHF etc normally do not perform that well duing this session. Leave them for their relevant sessions. For Asia I think we should trade pairs with JPY.

You may find the results to be different or nothing at all. You may also find missing few trades but that is ok. Chose any approach and stick to it. To me that is important.

Just make a tally of the number of days you are profitable when one of the major makets is closed for bank holidays. The results will be very revealing.

However, demo trading is another matter. Good to find out what happens when the big boys are not there to drive prices up or down.

Totally agreed. When we have holiday in UK or US then no point trading the trend those days. May be do CT trades only

I have added a function that keeps a record of the maximum drawdown generated by Shelley. She stores this figure in a Global Variable which she reads at every startup, and so should retain this information.

The code is untested but is so simple that even I should not get this wrong.

just started shelley & 10.2 NB for the first time this morning at the open 8am GMT.

-750 pips on shelley atm - how far would you let your basket go before you pulled the plug? Given the reversal this morning have the results over the last few weeks been due to a strongly trending market?

would you still base your basket on a breakout style time setting 22:00 to 8am GMT and take the hit every so often or go for one of the currency strength indies option or an indicator (tma slope vs stoch & outside TMA bands or otherwise) feature prevalent across all smaller basket charts i.e EU EJ ENZD ECAD EGBP EAUD etc

avoiding that change and subsequent reverse move will need a cost benefit analysis....

Why would you begin at 8am GMT today??

1. It's bank holiday today and tomorrow here in the UK (So there is NO London open today) everyone is at home..
2. The London open is at GMT +1 as it's BST here.

No wonder...

I think this is a valid point...we're looking to trigger & capture the initial upsurge in trading at the open of the session, so when there is a public holiday clearly there is no open, so we shouldn't be trading this session.

Too bad I forgot about the PH until after I had turned the EA loose

It does no harm to see what happens if we run the bot at times when the markets should be quiet.

Brief hiatus, guys. I have managed to re-introduce the bug I fixed this morning back into Shelley. I have deleted her from post 1 whilst I sort this out. Won't be long.
