HGI for beginners.

Thank you for your question. My example was from a 4h chart which if you wait until bar closes you missed the move for that session. Daily trading if you wait for the candle close you are waiting to trade the next day. Candle close trading is done on lower time frames like 15 minute. You look at the 8:30 candle and go with the 8:45 direction of the previous candle. A certain trading style. Higher TF it's a waste to wait for candle close because you miss the move of the session (4h) or of the day (daily candle). I know Steve has had some success trading the daily candle on a certain system a way back in time. You want to trade that way be my guest. Me, when the market moves I jump in and ride the wave. Your choice.

Thanks for the reply Bob. Just to confirm, after a CS has closed, the signal painted by HGI, if still valid on the close of the candle and still on chart, will not be repainted out by a subsequent price move will it?

I read your bio on a thread earlier, was very interesting because I too own a tutor school for expats and their children, but not in China. Basically international school children mostly. Thought that was an unusual coincidence.

Just because this is a 'beginners' thread doesn't mean you are abdicated from doing any thinking for yourself.

You just managed to mildly irritate Bob - see post just above this one in case you are too thick to work out what I mean. That is an achievement of monumental stupidity that takes some doing. Let us put it on a scale of irritation: 1 Bob irritation = 1,000,000 of mine. That is how hard it is to irritate Bob.

I am confused to what extend you experienced people on this forum are (still) using the original HGB EA.
I saw that there was some bad forward testing on demo but actually only for a month in Feb 2015.
To my eyes, that EA is a fine piece of work and even has implemented daily directional CSS as a filter and a Stochastic filters.
But now I see that people are going for variations like HGBnD or else and I don't quite understand the reason why. Is it still worthwile to test the EA playing and twitching arround with different settings to find something longy-termy profitable? After all, this machine does exactly what I would do manually for now...

This thread is for people too thick to understand HGI basics. It is not for those or you too thick to understand HGBnDxxxxxx basics.

You are too thick to understand the various HGBnD basics? There are threads where you can ask your stupid questions and have a 1 in 10 chance of your SHF membership surviving. Unless I happen to be reading at the time you post.

Hi, thank you everybody for this wonderful tool.
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I am trying to move to Linux Mint, and Empty4 is running OK with PlayOnLinux.
But HGI is not displaying right ( squares appears instead ), so i am thinking maybe it is some type of font that Linux doesn't have...
In short the question is anyone knows the name of the font that HGI uses, so I can install them?
