Bob's system is all about letting us know which pairs are heavily trending. It's up to us to choose when to get back in on the trend. From my experience with 10.2 the BEST time to re-enter a trending pair is when the 4H 5.1 MA gets hit (this setup is in the manual).
With Shelley we are seeing it work really well on certain days and not so well on others. I believe that if you can see some/most of the basket pairs hitting their 4H 5.1 MA then it's time to trigger Shelley.
This will also more than likely have your basket pairs at the opposite 1 HR TMA too and probably near the weekly pivots/support/resistance.
I'm still fine-tuning my entries (i entered a bit early this week for instance) but I'm getting better at knowing what to look for before triggering Shelley.
When you say "before triggering Shelley" you are referring to all the pairs indicated in the "input pairs to trade"? Appreciate if you can tell us more how you time-in Shelly after hitting 4h 5.1. Have anyone here thought of using offline chart using T101_indy price history by don to team up with Shelley?

1. I put Shelley up on a screen and note which pairs it wants to trigger as a basket
2. I open up a new screen for each of the pairs and wait for them to retrace up to the outer H1 TMA band
3. I then switch on the 4h chart and wait for them to start hitting the H4 5.1 MA. We are good to go.
4. I open up classic Shelley, set 50 pips ATP (adaptive take profit) and 50 pips ASL (adaptive stop loss) and set it to trigger in a minutes time.
5. I watch as everything goes green and I do a little dance around the room (this bit is v. important).
NOTES:
Not every pair in the basket has to retrace to outer H1 TMA Band or touch the 4H 5.1 MA. But definitely at least half of them do. You can almost feel that the market is about to turn when this happens.

Re: Shelley's multi-pair basket trader
Thank you, I can pircture out how you do. On item 1, I am doing that for my manual trading but have to put my trigger time way behind the current time to avoid the EA from triggering a trade (do you have another way to do it?) but using the Wait to Sell/Buy EA instead. I need to refine my entries like the way you do your entries.Jemook wrote:Here's my process:Haggadah wrote:Jemook,

I agree with Philippe; Jenook, we need to know your dance steps - clearly these are viatal.
Jenook, you clearly have a superior handle on all this. I have kept this:

Okie dokes. I'm still not sure of the best way to code this up as an addition to shelley. This is because I'm still using my judgement for when to trigger shelley.SteveHopwood wrote:I agree with Philippe; Jenook, we need to know your dance steps - clearly these are viatal.![]()

Kelisa posted up a nice image on the last page if you'd like to have a look. But here's my explanation too. If you look at the 4H chart for each of the pairs that Shelley wants to trade you'll see that price has touched the 5.1 MA on each of them and then taken off. I'm attaching an example of EURUSD you'll see where this happens.
Now have a look at CADJPY, CHFJPY, EURJPY, GBPJPY, EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCAD & USDCHF. You'll see that price touched the 5.1 MA (blue line) and then took off on ALL of these.
So maybe Shelley x Jemook could wait for all of them to touch the 5.1 MA in the previous two H4 bars and then trigger when this happens on all of them. I personally wait and once I see half of them touched I'll trigger Shelley off.
We do need to wait for a retracement before this happens and that's why I watch the 1H TMA outer band retracements before switching to H4 and waiting for the 5.1 MA's to be hit.

Re: Shelley's multi-pair basket trader
I've set 3 EAs to trigger 30 minutes before Tokyo, London and NY open. I've closed the asian and european one by hand, because I messed up something with the settings
On the Asia session there was around 500, and on London session there was around 700 pips profit. Now I put the latest version on the NY open, and it's just stopped out right now, with adaptive stop setting of 30 pips (240 pips loss). So it's around 100 pips for the day
Just for test, I will start it again, when there will be a bounce back of the TMA band on 1h timeframe.
Steve I saw you put the monitoring of the maximal drawdown in the latest version. Would it be difficult to code in the EA what I suggested on page 75?
