Hello again,
I'd just like to add a note after my last naughty post without reading all the posts.
Having read both the HGI and HGI For Beginners forums in full, forward tested the HGI on a demo account, I would like to add some comments about
Firstly, the HGI is a signal and like any indicator is best used with a large dose of common sense and preferable market knowledge. I have been (sometimes successfully and sometimes unsuccessfully) trading on price action for a few years now. What the HGI has done is given me confidence in my trade decisions.
Another aspect I struggled with for a long time has been trade management and exits. As described in Bob's pdf, his stacking method on H4 is hard to beat. Its taught me a lot - mainly to stop worrying about what could have been had you stayed in the trade a little longer or entered a little earlier. Be happy with what you got - a nice profit! This method eliminates any exit worries, and with the script its all done automatic. Fantastic bit of kit - balance increased almost 10% in less than 2 weeks! Taught me to be happy with the profit made, not to worry about what could have been. That mindset is valuable in and of itself.
So thanks again to all the contributors!

Hi
thanks for this brilliant tool. I work with HGI in these months and HGI knows news. Wonderful!
One Question: you said and I found that update history is so important for HGI works well. but you know that with big number for "Max bar in chart" we have slow chart load. what do you think for this? how much for "Max bar in history" and "Max bar in chart"?
So sorry for my English. I am from Iran.
Thanks.

Welcome to our forum,
Why worry about all that? As long as your chart history is updated, Do not worry about the rest. Do not concern yourself with Max bars. Trust me I have been using Hgi for a while now. Load hgi as is and you are good to go.One Question: you said and I found that update history is so important for HGI works well. but you know that with big number for "Max bar in chart" we have slow chart load. what do you think for this? how much for "Max bar in history" and "Max bar in chart"?
Looking forward to your results AndresAndresgc67 wrote:Thank you Bob, and everybody that helped creating this amazing indicator!![]()

Hey guys
First week using the HGI indicator. I have been trading forex for almost 9 years, and this indicator is one of the best tools I have found so far.
First I would like to thank Bob, Steve, Milanes, and all the people that contribute to create this amazing indicator.
I feel the need and obligation to contribute to help traders to become profitable using this indicator. I see a lot of people asking if this indicator works on lower timeframes, so I decided to forward test it on 15minute timeframe.
Just to be clear, I am MANUAL TRADING. Not using the EA.
I started this week on a US$ 1,000 demo account:
- Initial Balance: US$ 1,000
- Time frame: 15minute
- Lot size: 0.05. The average stop loss is 20 pips, it changes from pair to pair, but in average is 20 pips. So a loss is around US$ 10, thats 1% risk per trade on average.
- Pairs: EU, GU, UJ, Ucad, Ausd, aucad, cadjpy, chfjpy, nzusd, erugbp, cadchf, aususd, usdcad, usdchf, usdjpy
- Session: US open until London close. So I catch the strong movements that take place during London and US overlap.
I only take BIG ARROW TREND trades. No range trading, no wavy trading. Since we are trading the lower timframes, we should take the best and strongest signals. Take the trade as soon as the signal appears, DON´T WAIT FOR THE CANDLE TO CLOSE.
After London close I just ignore the new trades. By the time London closes I usually have some trades open, so I manage them by closing when a wavy signal appears.
So tu summarize: Take all BIG ARROW TREND trades (from US open until london close). Stop loss is placed 2 pips below or above the arrow.
Close the trade when a wavy signal happens.
Results today :+US$ 61. Thats 6% up, which is pretty good.
Max DD: 3%
I will keep testing it until the rest of the month. If everything goes well, I will open a live account on July to trade HGI.
If anybody have any questions, I am glad to answer!
Cheers!

Hey Andresgc67,
You've inspired me to see if I can dig up an old EA I set up about a year ago using one of Steve Hopwood's shell EA's, and shamelessly lifting all of his code from his Holy Graily Bob EA's. It used almost this exact strategy, and on the 15 minute TF. I wasn't limiting the trading hours on it, and I was using about 20 pips above the arrow as my SL. I gave up on it early after it was losing money after the first week, but it probably deserved a better chance to turn things around. Maybe with limited hours and the tighter SL, it would have been more successful. Ideas like this are always worth a try.
There are a lot of big moves in the first three hours of the London session. Are you skipping those because you live in a timezone where it's not practical to trade them, or are you doing it purposefully, looking for price to move a ways, pull back slightly, and the provide a big trend arrow as you get close to the overlap with the US session?
Anyway, hope there are lots of pips out there for you with this strategy!
