Re: Shelley's multi-pair basket trader
Forgot to add: in the chart display, Tma or MA showing either 'Buy' or 'Sell' means the pair has passed the filter - touched the outer Tma or crossed/touched the MA.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Re: Shelley's multi-pair basket trader
did we reach consensus on how far you would let the basket go negative? currently -500 pips atm.
Monday was the same quite some negative, yesterday it made +250...
50/50 or something else?
has the TMA entry critera helped on balance of 2 sessions?
i am running shelley as default...

Re: Shelley's multi-pair basket trader
How about set a time window (Jem could help with how long the window needs to be) and record the pairs that hit the MA during that window and if greater than 50% then open the basket?SteveHopwood wrote:Here is ShelleyJem with most of the data-gathering in place. Fascinating to see how it would have kept us out of the basket. She doesn't trade yet.Jemook wrote:I just entered a basket now as the 5.1 MA's start getting hit on the H1. I'm attempting to get in a bit sooner than the H4 5.1 MA Touch. I'm using smaller lot size as this is more risky than waiting for the H4 5.1 MA's, let's see how it goes.
Stopped out -350. Lucky I went in half my usual lot size this time. Silly of me to enter on the H1 5.1. I will wait for the H4 5.1 next time.
Logic fuzzy alert. Help, please:
if BasketSize is the total of all pairs whose Slope is either buy and hold or sell and hold
and TradablePairs is the total of pairs that pass all the retrace filters.
If BasketSize = 4 and TradablePairs = 2, we all know that 50% of the potential basket is actually tradable. I know that. You know that. The cat probably knows it.
How the blue blazes does the EA calculate it. What's the mathematical formula? Buggered if I can work this out.![]()
Another thought, when opening the basket you could go with a larger lot size on the pairs that hit the MA because they are most likely to go your way? Or is that been too greedy?
Cheers

Can't do anything until a maths geek gives me the formula I need.batemap wrote: How about set a time window (Jem could help with how long the window needs to be) and record the pairs that hit the MA during that window and if greater than 50% then open the basket?

You are right.SWG123 wrote:Armen, I think you've got your longs and shorts mixed upArmen wrote:Simple Shelley sees 7 possible trade setup for today based on daily TMA slope.
Long: CADJPY, CHFJPY, EURJPY, GBPJPY, GBPUSD
Short: USDCAD, USDCHF
But slopes on lower time frames H4 and H1 showing just the opposite.
Since the markets are retracing shall we base our trading decision on those time frames?
I mean H4 and H1.

Closed all positions +160 pips profit. Could have been more.Armen wrote:I open long positions on those currencies that show TMA slope > 0.8 on H1 and > 0,4 on H4.
Long: AUDJPY, AUDUSD, EURJPY, GBPJPY, NZDUSD, NZDJPY, USDJPY.
Time: London opening.
TP and SL: 50 pips.
Already + 100.

Re: Shelley's multi-pair basket trader
I'm confused, see where the MA price is and determine if the current priced has 'touched' the MA price, if yes then set a MA-pair-hit = true.SteveHopwood wrote:Can't do anything until a maths geek gives me the formula I need.batemap wrote: How about set a time window (Jem could help with how long the window needs to be) and record the pairs that hit the MA during that window and if greater than 50% then open the basket?

It is very interesting. But it is a system different from Shelley?! Ea serves you only as indicator(informer) and you enter Buy or Sell without the EA on the other criteria based on H1 and H4. Did I understand well? Because my English is very bad

Apologies if I've got wrong what I think you want.
To Get percentage: tradable pairs times 100 divided by Basket size gives you the answer.
So example above 2*100=200. then 200/4=50
Cheers
