Leon, i have another question. I have extra demo space available and am currently testing your W1D1H4 setfile.

If you wanted to try say 2-3 additional settings, which parameters would you mix up?

I can set up new demos and myfxbook links for people here to track

Hi Diego,

I have done away with Diad style trading for the simple reason that my buy and sell limits are not sent when I set it to true. The objective of pivot trading would be to cater for any pullback and have buy and sell limits filled and because we are trading smaller time frames ie W1D1H4, we want our profit target to hit at the opposite support or resistance 3 and hopefully all this can be done in a days work

I like Diad style trading don't get me wrong. This could particularly work on Steve's settings M1W1D1 with a longer objective in mind. Really is a personal choice and horses for different courses.

I have traded D1H4H1 as a combo for two weeks before I went onto my current settings. Results were great up to a point but I ended with poor results, simply because you end up with trades against the greater trend but there is a but. If you use this in conjunction with sixths on the 15min timeframe I believe it would greatly increase the quality of the entries. Here I would definately look at using Diad style trading. The ea would try and set buy and sell limits on the 1hour pivot and you would end up with buy and sell limits too close to market and get endless buy/sell attempts and messages being sent. Diad trading will elliminate this. I have not gone onto testing this yet, simply because I have reached full capacity.

Another theory I have. What if you set the pivot inputs in reverse order? H4D1W1 or H1H4D1. Of course the trading timeframe would become the weekly or daily as per the above order. So in effect you would be trading in the opposite direction of what we are trading now. This would particularly be good if we are reaching weekly or monthly support or resistance 2 or 3. So the ea will send buy sell lmits at daily, weekly or if you use Steve's combo at monthly support/resistance. This would appeal to swing traders. Here I would absolutely include sixths and BLSH (buy low sell high) as an extra filter. Our profit targets will be greater seeing we are setting it on a higher timeframe pivot. In fact This could become a very good hedge trade if I use this in conjunction with my current W1D1H4 setfile or Steve's setfile.
Another thought I have is if you set the Pivot inputs to say D1H4W1 or W1H4D1 you will be trading ranging markets and some like to buy low sell high in ranging markets

This is my theory at least and I have not tested it yet.

The possibilties are endless. I just need to get to it all

I have left my trades open over NFP and the French elections and I am very pleased up to this point. I wanted to see the effect.

Wow Leon, pretty impressive results.

I am monitoring my trading closely and this EA has been the best so far for me to date.

I am just starting to try a hybrid on Daily. I am using the EA to select the trades and trading them manually at NY Close with the rules and some other thoughts and aim to let them run if they obey the rules:). First day today and up 400 pips, probably slide before close. We shall see if it leads anywhere!

This is my first post here although i have consumed as much posts as i can from the wonderful people of this community.
I am particularly interested in that brilliant idea of Pivot trading with HGBnD and have to say that your W1D1H4 set is doing very well.

When Steve introduced the DIAD idea i was hopping you should come up with a set file.

I tried to play with the settings but my knowledge of HGBnD is not up to the level of avoiding constant buy/sell attempts and messages.

So please Leon go ahead with the combo of the above and i would happily test it.

Sure Leon no rush, take your time.

After all i am still getting a grip of the details from W1D1H4 in order to fully understand it and take advantage of it.

It is just that the idea of adding to winning positions seems very appealing.

I missed soekid post first time around.

The cause will be EA trying to send a stop order at a pivot price that is too close to the market to be allowed by the broker. I will add some code to prevent this if it becomes a major problem.
