Hi Rapple, I'm trying this approach but with different ATR combinations for SL and TP.
For this I just have a couple of questions:
- Are you still trading this settings?
- Are you restricting MAX number of trades per pair to just one? I figure this is the case from this setting on your setfile:
MaxSignalsToFollow=1
MaxTradesAllowed=1
Also, Have you considered allowing multiple entries per pair?

Just wanted to report my 1 month data for HGBDSSFB which I am trading a bit different to others
I have set it up so that it only takes single trades when the 1W & 1D CSS are in agreement and there is a FB signal on H1. {HGBFB CSS 1D1W_1HFB.set}
I then use MPTM to set the TP and SL on each individual pair at 2.5ATR (Daily) {MPTM 3SL basket.set}
I also have MPTM set so that the Basket TP is 100% and the SL is 3%.
The idea is that the SL and TP on each pair are wide enough to give the trade room to move and it only closes if it hits the 2.5ATR TP or SL (Note: it takes quite a few days close each trade).
The 3% basket SL is there so that if a number of positions reverse all trades are closed out. I am hoping if this is the case then the 1D or 1W CSS would have reversed so there will be no more trades opened till the trend is established again (to date I have not had a basket closure so not sure about this setting yet - 3% maybe to high on a $10k demo account)).
Also note that I have removed most of the NZD and CHF pairs
Cheers Richard

Hi acostafulano,
You are correct. I only have one trade per pair at a time. Also note that I have not included most of the NZD and CHF pairs.
I have made one change to my MPTM setfile with a 1% Basket SL and 1% Basket TP on a $10k account. This is then around $100 BasketTP/SL which on 0.01lot trades seems reasonable.
If this system proves profitable over the longer team I will look at either multiple entries, grid or DIAD. There are so many possibilities, just need more CPU
Kind regards Richard

Green at last!
Testing: 15M, 1H, 4H TF: Filter: SS two TF Higher 21/100, 0.2 threshold.
No hedging, no grid, no sixths, no close on opposite signal. AUDCHF, EURJPY, GBPUSD, GBPJPY
Set TP and SL for each trade (approx 1.0x the ATR of the SS Filter TF). 2nd set of identical trades using double TF and SL. No other trade exit except the SL/TP. No manual intervention.
15 Min and 1-Hour both made decent pips. 4-Hour (not shown) had small profit on only a couple of trades.
Interesting how the different timeframes play out. EURJPY lost its shirt on the 15 Min. TF, but the other three pairs made up for it. On the 1-Hour TF, EURJPY actually made about 2/3 profit of what the 15 Min. lost. 15 Min TF has done much better using the double TP/SL, 1-Hour has done better using the regular TP/SL
There's only about a week and a half of data, so I'll wait until the end of next week to show MTD totals.

V 1c is in post 1. The explanation is in post 1. The update is the same as I coded for Peaky yesterday - slightly different wording and different picture is all. You can ignore the explanation if you have already seen it in my Peaky thread.

I have been trying Leon's and TJF's sets and making changes here and there. Anyway yesterday morning , ianp got me thinking about his test set which is great except for the 58% DD![]()
I believe it is a Wavegarrick set as ianp suggested. Anyway I wondered how I could use this set and reduce the DD significantly and I had an idea. What if I set a grid to 1 with Hedging true, TP 25, close hedge at 25 and basket tp 25. Basically everything set to close at 25 pips. I set the EA up and started the demo and it is a beautiful thing watching 25,25,25 closing one after another.
What happens that I have to watch for is as trades close and open new b/s stops 25 pips away it can leave the opposite stop farther and farther away from the starting price. I simply close these and the genius little BOT opens a new one 25 pips away and it's ready for action again.
here is my set :
And here is the Trade report. The first trade closed with this set was 2 hours after rollover yesterday!Which means this is about 15 hours of trading!!![]()
Now I realize this is only 1 day and I'll have to see how it performs over a period of time and conditions. I have seen it close two hedged positions and several singles while I was typing, so we'll see.

The only update I can give is I abandoned this at the end of the month. As with most hedged grids it got caught in range and USDJPY had as many as 8 trades in each direction. The balance grew but so did the DD so equity stayed about the same. I thought it was too good to be true, so I will test much longer before posting another test. Thanks

Last week:
And since the start May:
.. so just over 8000pips in 4weeks for Grid + Sixths and profit 3.5 x drawdown. Can't argue with that! and my only intervention has been closing any grids in profit on Fridays
Although this test has been with a 10,000 account what I have observed is that there have only ever been a few pairs with active setups at any one time so in theory could start with a much smaller 1000 and limit the trading to just one pair one week at a time. This will give a much higher return and better use of equity at any one time. I think I will try this next and with a max grid of 5 rather than 10 just to allow a little extra margin.
Thanks again Steve for making this one work. :hi:
