Holy Graily Bob 'n Dotty 'n SuperSlope

EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

Hi Guys,

I am simply stoked. Between Dclayw and my settings for the week  Simple is good. Just a little extra, added offsetting with fill in gaps set to true and offset at 4 trades with a max of 5 trades at immediate market orders.

I only load the ea if I see that Baluda's superslope is about to cross on the daily timeframe, saves resources.

Anyway early days. Lets see. Thanks Dave.

Cheers
Leon

A chart I am looking at for a possible long position. Does this mean the end of Eurusd strength? We shall see :)

TJF sure...

A quick summary.

I am interested in the first trade trigger with a 50000 second delay for the the next trade.
All fine if it moves in the direction of the signal, no gaps to be filled and we are good to go.
Fill in gaps become useful if there is a retrace and the deeper the retrace the more the need for Offsetting which has helped me out on more than one occasion. My setting at 10 pips. Much like grid trading but only in reverse ie if we have a retrace. I am still testing to see if 25 pips or 50 pips might be better.
I am contemplating if 3 trades are not a better option rather than 4 for offsetting.
The magic here, when you start using offsetting you will continue to trade all the way for the duration of the valid signal and new trades will be opened as soon as one trade or offset trades are closed. You will not only get trades the day of the signal iow you will be kept in the full trend run even if trades are being closed.
I am contemplating jump stops, still in test mode.
Every tick mode set to true, crucial for the way I am using it.
Shout if you need more clarification and hey, ideas are welcome...
A quick craptest will quickly show what I am talking about.

Cheers

Holy Graily Bob 'n Dotty 'n SuperSlope & HGI

Post by Weyk »

Hello,

I want to use SS with HGI like nanningbob did with CSS. But it seems that HGI doesn't work as trade trigger.

Basically i want HGI to enter a trade if SS is blue, and sell if SS is red.

Could someone help please?
If you put your mind onto something sooner or later it will come up with the solution.

I suggest you try sorting it out yourself by reading the manual if you haven't already done so. It's on this page (dottybot userguide):

If you're still having problems post your set file.

Glad you answered dclayw. I've read the manual of course. I've been on this forum for a while and know the rules. I tried different settings but didn't manage to make it work.

See the set file please. Your help much apreciated.

Here's the 3 monthly update for my native SS test running on the D1. Past 4 weeks ended where it started. 'Twas a wild ride indeed, ranging between +3700 pips and +5500 pips, mostly hanging around +4500.

Longest position EURGBP was opened 2 months ago and is still open. Swap costs getting big on some positions e.g. trading 0.01 lots, $5+ on long EURNZD that's been open for 6 weeks (that position is $43 in profit). A simple basket TP of around 500 pips might suit this simple strategy.

4th month update for native SS trading on D1. Caught all that GBP strength in the last week or so of the 4th month (ending on Sept 9).
