xrismak. Hi. That's a good point.

I suppose the next step is to work out the best pairs to trade.

Are you using the EA, or trading manually.
Thanks

Without going into the coding, 3.0 seems to be profitable and 2.3 isn't?

2.3 opens trades when an upper level is hit and closes when the lower limit is hit.
3.0 is just the opposite.

Well, it's 4:30 in the morning here and I have to be at work in 3 hours .. night all!

Hi Dwain,

Can you please let me know how you do calculate "Big Picture"?

Thanks,

Emre

Emre,

It couldn't be simpler ..

As the code is looping thru the grid, it looks at the strength of the cell. If it's above 0 it adds 1 it it's below 0 it subtracts 1. Big Picture is the final number. Don't forget that you can use a range of the grid by selecting the begin and end TF's for Big Picture.

This will be my last post for a while, as I have some pressing projects I have put off long enough. This will also be the final version of the 9x9 EA, unless bugs are found. I'll still be around for questions. Just ask them here so everyone can benefit.

Here are the trading rules for the EA, or could even be used manually trading. This is not a scalper and takes time to see profit. Be patient with it, and as I have learned, trust it and keep your hands off of it while it's trading. It will take a little time until the EA gets into sync with the pair. Watch it trade and you will understand what I'm talking about. This is not a set and forget EA as there is no such thing. Keep an eye on it, but don't touch. You can adjust the BigPictureOpen to a higher number to avoid ranging if you wish.

1. NEVER NEVER NEVER (hope you got the point) TRADE against the "Big Picture". You will most likely lose your money. The Big Picture is more or less the strength of the trend. (In truth, the trend is following the Big Picture!) If you can understand that, you will do just fine with this concept.

2. Positions will be opened in the direction of the Big Picture when Lower, Mid, Higher, and Slope of the Slope all match color and Big Picture is greater than BigPictureOpen setting. (This keeps the draw down to a minimum)

3. Positions will be closed when Lower Strength is opposite of and greater than Mid or Higher Strength or if Big Picture drops more than 2 from the BigPictureOpen setting.

EI.. (-20 Lower 15 Mid 34 Higher) Will not be closed because -20 (Lower) is not stronger than 34 (Higher) in the opposite direction. (-12 lower 11 Mid 4 Higher) Will be closed because it's greater than 11 Mid in the opposite direction. Clear as mud right? Well, I'm not good at explaining things .. just enjoy the EA already!

BTW, If you didn't notice, we had an idea, did a proof of concept, and developed an indicator/EA in less than 3 weeks. I think we did pretty darn good! Thanks Ray for the great testing and observations.

Stable version 3.1 in the first post.

May God bless you and grant His loving grace upon you,

Dwain

PS: I put $200 into a live account and I have the EA running on it. I'll post my results in a few days.
I DO NOT recommend that you do that .. let me lose my money or make some money before you put any of your hard earned money on it.

Good luck Dwain!

I've spent some time today after NY open watching closely 12 pairs with 9x9 (EURUSD & EURCHF were most interesting) and it really helps in understanding what's going on. Thank you very much!

Best regards,
Milosz

PS. I see that your money management skill has improved and you're no longer open position with 99 lots ;-)
