I have been experimenting with the BreakEven JS controls. However I am unable to find settings that include the locked in pips. For example I would like to trigger BE at 10pips and simultaneously lock in 5pip profit, then jump every ten, so locked in profit would be open price + 5, open price + 15, +25 etc.
But what is happening is trade will close at the open price with a profit of zero, or at +10,+20,+30, etc. I can't find settings that will include the BE+5. Any suggestions? Please confirm BE/JS working OK for you?
Here is my suggestion. Stop being a pillock and go with what is available. It may not be perfect, but it is what is available.
Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

lol it's been a while since I heard the term pillock.

the EA works really well as is but if you want additional lockin functionality try combining with the all position trade manager ( search the site)

I have the same issue! :)

here's my assumption (I haven't fully reviewed that part of the code yet):

so if I use PoS on M1 timeframe it looks back 1586 bars to find the peak highs and lows.
it trades based on that.

but I don't think it considers the H1 H4 D1 cycle...and that's why some trades get stuck with a higher DD.
It probably hasn't been noticed before is because H4 and D1 cycles can take several weeks to play out...

what do you guys think?

No thanks. It is missing the point of PoS, which is to take advantage of counter moves on the lower time frames to mitigate some of the pain of the retraces on the higher ones. All explained in the user guide.

Yours would be a different bot which you are most welcome to code so people can try it and see.

V 1d is in post 1.

I had coded for there to be both buy and sell trades open on the same chart and for Recovery to apply independently to both groups, but not allowed PoS to open a new sell position when there are already buy(s) open and vice versa. This is fixed in 1d.

These are simple DIY fixes.

Do a search for:
if (MarginCheck() )

The line of code straight after that is:
if (OpenTrades == 0)

Comment it out so that it is greyed out, or delete it altogether:
//if (OpenTrades == 0)

Then do a search for:
//Look for a sell.

You will find it high up in void LookForTradingOpportunities(string symbol, int cc). You will also see a block of code starting with this comment:
//Look for a buy.

Copy this over the top of the existing code:

Code: Select all

   //Look for a sell.
   if (MarketSellsCount == 0)//LookForTradingOpportunities() is for the starting trade only
      if (MarketDirection[cc] == shortdirection) //Market must be falling from a PH.
         if (SixthsTradingStatus[cc] == tradableshort)//And must be in the trading area.
            if (TradeShort)//User can control the trading direction
               if (!PositiveSwapOnly[cc] || shortSwap > 0)
                  if (BrokerAllowsHedging || MarketBuysCount == 0)//Either 'hedging' is allowed or there are no market buys open. See note below.
                  {
                     SendShort = true;
                  }//if (BrokerAllowsHedging || MarketBuysCount == 0)//Either 'hedging' ios allowed or there are no market buys open. See note below.

   //Look for a buy.
   if (MarketBuysCount == 0)//LookForTradingOpportunities() is for the starting trade only
      if (!PositiveSwapOnly[cc] || longSwap >= 0)
         if (MarketDirection[cc] == longdirection) //Market must be rising from a PL.
            if (SixthsTradingStatus[cc] == tradablelong)//And must be in the trading area.
               if (TradeLong)//User can control the trading direction
                  if (!PositiveSwapOnly[cc] || longSwap > 0)
                     if (BrokerAllowsHedging || MarketSellsCount == 0)//Either 'hedging' is allowed or there are no market buys open. See note below.
                     {
                        SendLong = true;
                     }//if (BrokerAllowsHedging || MarketBuysCount == 0)//Either 'hedging' ios allowed or there are no market buys open. See note below.
The lines of code added to these blocks are:
if (MarketSellsCount == 0)//LookForTradingOpportunities() is for the starting trade only
and
if (MarketBuysCount == 0)//LookForTradingOpportunities() is for the starting trade only

Now, when a group of, say, buy trades has not been closed out, PoS can take sell trades as well. We profit on the way up and we profit on the way down.
